EdwardKnoxII Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 Burt Reynolds To Star In The Longest Yard Remake You know you are old when you star in the remake of a film you had starred in.... Burt Reynolds has signed on to star in the remake of The Longest yard. Reynolds starred in the original as well. He joins Adam Sandler and Chris Rock in the remake. The film is about a retired football quarterback who is forced to lead a group of inmates to victory while playing against the guards in an annual football game. Reynolds played the quarterback in the original film but will play the coach this time around. Credit: Variety
WrestlingDeacon Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 I think Burt should be the warden. Regardless, I will not be seen within ten feet of a theater this is playing in. I don't see it being any good at all.
Bored Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 Adam Sandler and Chris Rock? The hell? So they are going to make it a comedy? Oh this has bad idea written all over it but most remakes are.
Vern Gagne Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 So Adam Sandler or Chris Rock will play Crew? Someone needs to tell the producers that Burt Reynolds played college football at Florida St. I don't think Jim Caviziel would be a bad choice, if they made a remake similar to the originial. He's got a basketball background, but has an athletic look. Sandler could be Caretaker.
Ted the Poster Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 According to IMDB Sandler is playing Crewe, Rock is playing Caretaker, and Snoop Dogg will have a role as well. Ugh. They're going to turn this into a total comedy. I just know it.
Vern Gagne Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 Somehow I don't think Caretaker will have the same fate in this version.
razazteca Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Positive: Burt Negitive: Rock Chris Rock should not be in this movie.
