justsoyouknow Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 My friend and I bought tickets a couple of weeks ago, and now the day has come. Tonight, we get to see Fozzy in concert. It should be a good time...and basically, I just wanted to brag. From what I hear, they've been playing stuff off of their new CD, so I'm looking forward to hearing that. Does anyone here even like Fozzy? They're a guilty pleasure of mine.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 Nobody brags about liking Fozzy methinks. But hey, if that's a band you want to see, have a good time I guess.
Guest JRE Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Nobody brags about liking Fozzy methinks. I do all the time
Guest Choken One Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 I've seen a huge chunk of Fozzy fans here and elsewhere...Fozzys pretty big...
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Where I love, Fozzy's popularity up here is about as great as the getting the clap.
Corey_Lazarus Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Where you're from, Banky, I'm guessing polka happens to be the best local music. That would explain a lot... I love Fozzy. Me and Choken have been saying since Happenstance dropped that their originals are better than the covers, and the next album is all originals. BOOYAH! Of course, I'm also a huge Rich Ward mark dating back to Stuck Mojo. Now if only I could find Cafu (formerly Sick Speed) CDs...
Steviekick Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 As a cover band, Fozzy is fun. But they are really coming into their own with their original material.
Guest El Satanico Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Really? Can you mail me some of this wonderful corn? It must be a taste explosion.
Guest Choken One Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 I wonder whose project will fare better Jerichos or Cenas? I'd say Jericho since he has the respect from the legit rock mainstream and already made a name for the band...Cena doesn't have the huge support cast just yet aside from getting props from Method. Jericho wouldn't need the WWE Machine this time...
Guest El Satanico Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Cena will have to depend on mtv to find any success. The MTV audience are the only people who may buy into John Cena as a rapper.
Lil' Bitch Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Hope you have fun! Tell us what happens! Fozzy rules!

Little boy, not agreeing with your horrible metalhead music does not equate to listening to polka. I honestly pity how you waste your life on horrible music and ugly women.
justsoyouknow Posted May 4, 2004 Author Report Posted May 4, 2004 Alright, so Fozzy was fucking amazing. Doors opened at 8, so my friend and I got there around 7:30. Once we got inside, we were informed that there was a local band that was going to open, despite the fact that it was never advertised. So, instead of seeing Fozzy right away, we got some shitty local band playing a mixture of Puddle of Mudd-sounding songs and doing Nu-Metal covers of Ice Cube & Dr. Dre. I shit you not, they did a cover of "Natural Born Killers". It was certainly something. They got onstage around 8:45 and played until 9:45, then Fozzy came onstage at 10:15. And they fucking blew everyone away. The band was great with their banter in-between songs, Rich Ward is a fucking god on the guitar (during a break in between songs, I yelled out "Rich FUCKING WARD!" and he looked surprised that someone actually knew who he was), and they played for a good hour and a half. They played two original songs, one right off the bat that they didn't tell us the name of, and one called "The Way I Am", which was excellent. Based off of their new material that they played, I can't wait for the new album to drop. They told the audience that they were responsible for other types of music as well, claiming to invent porno music, then playing porn music while Jericho simulated sex onstage. Then they asked us to shout out genres of music and they played them...at one point, someone yelled "SKA!", so they all started playing Ska music, then Rich Ward went up to the microphone and said, "Ska is just white people playing Reggae....and Reggae SUCKS (segueway into metal solo)!" It was a great show, all-around. They came out for two encores, playing "Don't You Wish You Were Me", which is not one of my favorites, and "Livewire", which just so happens to be one of my favorite Fozzy songs. They didn't play "Where Eagles Dare", "Stand Up and Shout", "Big City Nights", or "The Prisoner", which was a bit of a letdown, but all and all, it was an amazing show. I'm incredibly sore right now, my ears hurt, I'm hoarse as a motherfucker, and I'm going to bed. Good night all.
Guest Museite Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 I'm incredibly sore right now, my ears hurt, I'm hoarse as a motherfucker, and I'm going to bed. Good night all. THAT is the standard as to whether you've just been to a great gig. I saw Feeder on Saturday and they freaking brought the house down. My voice is almost back, but the bruising was sure as hell worth it. I want to see Fozzy now.
justsoyouknow Posted May 4, 2004 Author Report Posted May 4, 2004 I didn't know it was possible to mosh to Fozzy, but by god, we did.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 you can mosh to anything. I took my Bro to see Blink once and they were moshing. I got to hurt little wannabes. It was great.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Moshing is a way for losers to compensate for their small cocks.
justsoyouknow Posted May 4, 2004 Author Report Posted May 4, 2004 Kinda hard to not mosh when a pit starts around you.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 Kinda hard to not mosh when a pit starts around you. Walk away. If I wanted to mindlessly listen to music I wouldn't have paid X dollars to WATCH a group/artist.
Corey_Lazarus Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 Moshing is a way for losers to compensate for their small cocks. Not familiar with the Cockshots thread, are we? Check it out (or ask IDRM who won it), and then say I mosh to make up for my "small" dick.

I'll take your word for it. I still stand by my statement.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 I use my cock to mosh. I turn around fast enough, and I can take out about 4 or 5 blackshirts with my fleshy telephone pole. It even bears a few scars from being stomped with some Doc Martens.
Guest Dids Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 Kinda hard to not mosh when a pit starts around you. Not for me. Last show I was at where they used guitars (i.e., non-hip-hop show, Modest Mouse/Halobenders or it might have been Sunny Day Real Estate, either way, 1994) these little fucks started trying to mosh during one of the openning acts. 3 kids about 15 years old thinking they were cool slamming into people... ... so I threw one of them halfway across the room. Shitheads. If you've heard the song "Seven" by SDRE, it's really funny to watch people try to mosh to it.
