Guest Korgath Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Statement #1: You are the best manager of all time. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan: True. I’ve done things no other manager has done. I’ve managed in WWE, in the AWA, WWA, WCW, NWA. I was the first manager ever in the NWA in St. Louis. I managed in Japan. I’m the only man ever to manager Andre the Giant. I was in the main event at WrestleMania III in front of 93,000 people. I started as a manager in 1965, and I retired when I got sick. I don’t know of any other wrestling manager who has managed, wrestled and commentated -- for five decades and two centuries. Paul Heyman: False. Bobby Heenan is the best manager of all time. I'm the best General Manager of all time. Statement #2: The lack of male managers is a detriment to the business. Heenan: True. They can be entertaining. Any time you take away something, it’s a minus. Anytime you add anything, it’s a plus. There aren’t anymore male managers, and that’s a negative. Heyman: False. The lack of quality male managers is a detriment to the business. Statement #3: The Heenan Family is the best manager-led stable in wrestling history. Heenan: It’s not a stable. Because a stable is a place where there’s fly-infested horses, and we’re talking about people. So that’s why I called it a family. But true. It was the only family in wrestling history. Kind of like the Bundys in “Married with Children.” Heyman: Both true and false. True if you judge it over time, false if you judge any particular incarnation of the Heenan Family. Statement #4: You are the most outspoken person in wrestling. Heenan: False. I think Vince McMahon is. But he backs up what he says, and he usually has the proof to back it up. I do say things when I should probably bite my tongue sometimes, but that’s just my personality. Heyman: False. And anything else I say will get me fired. Statement #5: You will once again manage a WWE Champion. Heenan: I don’t know about that. I don’t know if I want a schedule where I have to be on the road three or four days a week. I’ll be 60 in November. I’m not sure if I want to be back doing that – standing in lines at airports. Travel is tough. To do something for the company would be fine, and I’m open to anything – I’m a streetwalker – but I don’t know if I’d want to have a regular schedule again. Heyman: Only if I want to. I love shoot comments that aren't supposed to be shoot comments. (TM Scott Keith)
Guest Nanks Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Best yet?? We're rating columns from wwe.com now???
thecitythesky Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 yup dude. **** 1/4 rating lowered because i felt they should've been given 2-4 more questions.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 The small shoot aspect is really the best part of it. I thought that "the best yet?" was sarcasm...
Lil' Bitch Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Heyman: False. And anything else I say will get me fired.
TheFranchise Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Best yet?? We're rating columns from wwe.com now??? ****, Heyman's obvious no-sell of question 4 brings it down a LOT.
JoeDirt Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Best yet?? We're rating columns from wwe.com now??? ****, Heyman's obvious no-sell of question 4 brings it down a LOT. ****? Sorry guys, this just wasn't a low-end TOFOTY candidate. I gotta go **1/4 here.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 If we're rating these things now, then this one gets **3/4 from me.
Use Your Illusion Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 What the hell was so good about that?
Guest frowned Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 so much potential, but after all of the hype it was ultimately a let down, they simply were not trying. **.
dubq Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Christ, they could've used a current picture of Heenan, at least.
CanadianChris Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Great talent, but poorly booked. Typical misuse of talent by WWE. **3/4
clean rob Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Pffft. I've seen better True or Falses in people's backyards. You guys giving it ***+ have no standards at all. It's just a shame that this True or False gets so much exposure when ROH are putting out excellent True or False interviews on a weekly basis. Though of course, nothing will ever top the early 90's AJPW True or Falses. We'll never see True or False interviews like those again.
NYU Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 What's with all the ***+ ratings around here?! Heenan used WAY too many chops as transitions This ToF gets * and likes it!
Toxxic Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Notice how Heenan's answers were longer? In my opinion the older man was holding the younger one down, and let's face it, Heyman hasn't got too many years left in him. He should be main-eventing ToFs up and down the country, but as long as this sort of backstage politics goes on he's going to be stuck in the upper-midcard forever. Only a Benoit-like Renaissance can save him now.
Guest netslob Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 i just gotta say, these are two names i never thought i'd see in the same room together under any circumstnces, but they came off really good. kudos to both.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Over ****? NO WAY! Katori/Kawaki on 3/12/99 was better.
OldSchoolWrestling Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 I don't believe any of it even happened until Meltzer confirms it.
Guest Choken One Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 According to Meltzer...The TOF occured on top of a yellow Ladder purchased at the Stamford Home Debot.
Guest Quik Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Wasn't WWE.com keeping kayfabe like a week ago?
