haVoc Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Report – Goldberg/Austin interview @ Lakers/Spurs Game Tonight at halftime of Game 4, LA Fox Sports anchor Larry Burnett interviewed Goldberg and Steve Austin. Here are the highlights: · Burnett referred to Austin as “Stone Cold” but was quickly cut of by Austin who reminded Burnett that he is now only Steve Austin because Vince McMahon owns the name Stone Cold. Austin said it didn’t matter though because Steve Austin still has the same attitude & demeanor and it’s not about the name, it's about the person. · Goldberg said they were at the game because of his friendship w/ Karl Malone. Goldberg is clearly a Lakers fan. Austin reminded both Burnett and Goldberg that he is from San Antonio, but never came right out and said he was a Spurs fan. · Goldberg stated he is still very good friends with both Malone and Shaq. · Burnett then jokingly asked Goldberg if he owned his own name and, in Steve Austin fashion, said “Hell Yeah”. · Burnett asked Goldberg if and when he was going to go back to wrestling for the WWE. Goldberg said, “I’m done – Vince McMahon can kiss my tuchhus”. Burnett then asked Austin and he more congenially said, “never say never”. Burnett then asked Austin about going back even though he’s suffered many injuries and he said you never know what could happen in that business. Burnett must have thought Goldberg was kidding so he asked him again and Goldberg said, “I’ll be back approximately 50 yrs after Steve Austin returns”. · Burnett then asked Goldberg about his movie project “Santa Sleigh”. Goldberg said he enjoys acting, especially when you consider that a 6’4”, 280 crazy Jewish guy can play Santa Claus. (Hilarious) · Burnett wrapped up the segment by thanking both of them & to enjoy the rest of the game. Austin intervened and thanked Goldberg for showing him around LA and how much he really enjoys it here. Overall, both Austin and Goldberg came across great, except Goldberg is seemingly very bitter towards McMahon. I think we’ve seen the last of Goldberg based on his comments. Most of all I was impressed with Burnett, who is a mainstream sports anchor here in LA who came across as exceptionally knowledgeable about Austin, Goldberg, WWE and even went on to say how he finds it interesting how many pro sports athletes enjoy and look up to pro wrestlers. All in all, an excellent segment. Credit: 411mania.com
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 So Vince officially owns "Stone Cold"? And Austin still does have the same personality, it's just solely against women now. Yeah, there's definitely a higher possibilty of an Austin return than a Goldberg return, especially after that interview, thankfully. Hopefully with Austin not as the "Fashion police" or some shit. And what's funny is that Goldberg and WWE were considering a resigning just over a month ago. Goldberg is Jewish? And at least the interviewer didn't say anything stupid, whether he knows anything about professional wrestling or not.
dubq Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Goldberg is Jewish? The name is kind of a tip-off to that...
haVoc Posted May 13, 2004 Author Report Posted May 13, 2004 I love that the crowds on Raw don't even seem to give a shit Austin is gone. Besides a few "What" chants, I haven't heard any "AUSTIN" chants.
notJames Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 F.G.B. Now more than ever, since he's a Laker fan.
Gert T Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Not a bad interview, almost as good as the Nichole Ritchie one earlier in the year.
Ripper Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 When did Austin start slapping Laker girls for not drinking beer?
Lil' Bitch Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 I think we’ve seen the last of Goldberg based on his comments. *looks up at the sky Thank you, God.

I don't think they realize that he indeed gone from WWE just yet. I had a mark yesterday ask me where he is. I laughed and said not in the WWE.

What next? A Nichole Bass interview where she calls Vince McMahon & Pat Patterson homos?
Guest Dazed Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Man Of 1,004 Modes: Flaming is allowed in No Holds Barred and is discouraged everywhere else. If you have a problem with someone, take it to NHB. Depending on mod’s discretion, flaming outside of NHB can be subject to a one-time warning. Absolutely TASTELESS comments are subject to ban via mod’s discretion regardless of the forum. Keep in mind, though, that a stranger calling you a name on the internet is just that: a stranger calling you a name on the internet. It's really not that important in the grand scheme of the forums. Many problems with "flaming" can be overcome by simply ignoring the other party.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 "Stop Posting" isn't flaming. Instead of actually flaming him for stupid comments like "Goldberg is jewish?", I said that, and went about my business of how come everytime a former WWF/E Wrestler knocks the company, it's posted here.
jester Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Goldberg, Austin, Hogan, and Lesnar should get together and form their own wrestling company, just to piss of McMahon. If that happened, WWE history would see its biggest revision yet. Of course, could you imagine the politics involved in a company with those four? Whew.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Of course, could you imagine the politics involved in a company with those four? Whew. Damn, if you add Kevin Nash to that mix, it's WCW All over again....with Austin & Brock shuffled into the mix. Truely a scary thought indeed. Kurt Angle Mark Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 And at least the interviewer didn't say anything stupid, whether he knows anything about professional wrestling or not. He probably didn't say anything stupid because the interviewer Larry Burnett happens to be Goldberg's brother in the law.

Yes, yes it is flaming. Minor, perhaps, but this is not the place for it. What he said was fairly stupid, so why not help him to learn and set him on the right path or something. Remember that he is only 15, which does not excuse him for everything, but it explains things. If you don't know about Jewish names, there's no reason why you would think Goldy is Jewish.
Guest Trivia247 Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Burnett: No Seriously Goldberg when are you going back to the WWE? Goldberg: You Stupid Bastard Did you hear me the first two times? Im Never FUCKING going back to that Den of Nazi's! Steve Austin: Goldy calm down, they aren't a den of Nazi's. Goldberg: Shut up Steve! Of course they are, Thats the only reason they didn't push me to the Moon like they should have done for my Career like they did in WCW. Steve Austin: Don't tell me to shut up you Dumb Bastard! And Maybe they actually wanted you to I Dunno....Earn you Spot? Goldberg (furrows his brow in a vague attempt to comprehend) Earn my spot???? Thats uhhh um Thats just Drunken Girl friend Beating talk. Steve...Looks....Pissed! Goldberg: Now Now Steve o Boy you can't give me a Stone Cold Stuner, or the WWE will sue your ass. Steve: I won't give you a stunner...... Steve kicks him Lifts him up on his shoulders turns and drops him neck first on the guard railing! Steve: But I can give you a STUNGUN!!!!!! Steve walks away.... and in the distance, beyond the Roaring crowds, thousands of miles of away you hear...... JR: STONE COLD!!! STONE COLD!!!! STONE COLD!!!!!

Guest Repo Man Reborn Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 When did Austin start slapping Laker girls for not drinking beer? Ripper, who is the girl on the left in your signature? (The one facing forward, not the one with the extra ass) Oh sorry, I'll keep with the topic as well....... STONE COLD! STONE COLD! STONE COLD!

Scary thought - would that or would that not outdraw your average Smackdown PPV? Well, the buyrate will have me contributing because I'm a Hogan fan. Nothing on earth could make me order Judgment Day this year, unless Hogan returns, pins Bradshaw for the world title (if he actually goes over), and keeps the title for four years.
Guest OraleHolmes Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Do you know why Burnett is so knowledgable? Because he's Goldberg's brother-in-law.

And the girl on the right is standing on the step with her left leg. thats why it gives the impression of another ass.
jester Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Imaging Main Events of Hulk Hogan vs. Kevin Nash 9x a year. That's a lot of finger-pokes. And Hogan would have to do all the poking because Nash might tear something if he had to poke somebody.
