cawthon777 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2004 And even if he wasn't doing 1990, I'll need them anyway for the NWA results site, so it's all good. Speaking of which, it's actually coming along quite well so far all things consideed. Once I get some bills paid I'll pick up the server space and upload what I've got (probably two weeks or so) with the official launch being on or around July 1. JCP is already being done so what are you covering? Georgia, Florida, St. Louis?

UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2004 It was pretty much the same as the Starrcade match. Hogan gets interference to win...AFTER the show goes off the air (morons)... Sting gets the restart and the win. This match was the final straw, and led to the title getting stripped. "Officially" Sting wins. BTW, Philly battle royal (with luchadores) was ended by the interfering Giant. Good show, that Nitro, I was there, sat 2 rows behind Raven & Saturn (doing the out of the crowd gimmick). Guest Lawlerm Report post Posted June 4, 2004 Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, got a bit bogged down in all the results listed: www.tvtome.com It has episode guides and synopsis etc for every major TV show and includes wrestling so Nitro, Thunder etc are listed. Obviously it isn't a strictly wrestling site so it may not be 100% accurate for everything but it should at least give you a good starting point. Most matches also include finishes etc as the guides have been done over the years by people watching the shows at the time. Will be good to see how the project develops. Good luck guys. JHawk 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2004 JHawk, whatcha covering for your site? Crocket, early WCW, NWA-TNA? (Indy/Foreign NWA?) I'm trying (and the emphasis in on the word "trying") to cover the entire NWA over the last 56 years. My lone exceptions will be WCW cards from 1991-1993 without NWA champions wrestling on them and WWF shows from their run as NWA members without NWA champions on them since you guys have already done a hell of a job compiling them. Focus will initially be given to cards featuring NWA World and World Tag Team Champions to try to lighten the load somewhat early on, although I've included most of the TV and US title changes from the Mid-Atlantic area already. And no, I'm not taking direct submissions just yet. And to keep on the WCW topic here, I found this TV taping result in my research for the NWA site that I don't think we've covered here yet. August 2, 1993 - Center Stage Theater in Atlanta, GA Matches airing on WCW Saturday Night (8/14/1993): Arn Anderson/Paul Roma beat Dick Slater/Bobby Eaton when Anderson pinned Eaton Yoshi Kawn pinned Brad Armstrong after blocking Armstrong's Russian legsweep and using the ropes for leverage Sting beat Richard Ingram Sid Vicious pinned an unknown with a power bomb Marcus Alexander Bagwell/2 Cold Scorpio/Ricky Steamboat beat WCW World Televsion Champion Paul Orndorff/Lord Steven Regal/Maxx Payne when Steamboat pinned Regal with a Flying Bodypress Non-televised match:Frankie Lancaster pinned Chris Sullivan with a Russian legsweep Matches airing on WCW Saturday Night (8/21/1993): Sid Vicious/Harlem Heat beat 2 Cold Scorpio/Marcus Alexander Bagwell/Ron Simmons when Vicious pinned Bagwell with a power bomb The Equalizer defeated Ron Austin by submission to a full nelson Charlie Norris pinned Fury with a double chop Non-televised match: Tommy Angel/Scott Studd beat The Ringlords Matches airing on WCW Saturday Night (8/21/1993): Johnny B. Badd pinned Mike Thor with the left hook. Badd took off his mask before throwing the winning punch. Ice Train pinned Rage with a powerslam WCW World Heavyweight Champion Big Van Vader beat JT ? NWA World Champion Ric Flair defeated Sting by countout after Sid Vicious prevented Sting from reentering the ring. This was the last NWA World Title match to air on TBS. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2004 I was kinda joking, as it kinda makes me feel funny to see "the NWA Tag titles" on teams like the Bangers and Holly/Gunn. But if you're gonna do the post-93 "Candido wins the world title from Tracy Smothers in Cherry Hill, NJ" NWA, then more power to ya, I actually look forward to learning more about it. I consider the "NWA" I knew dead as of '90, so there'll be some knowledge to obtain for sure.

cawthon777 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2004 *** Clash of the Champions XXI 11-18-92, Macon Coliseum, Macon, Georgia 1. Brian Pillman defeated Brad Armstrong. - This match was not aired on the television broadcast. The match was televised. It was hyped pretty big in the weeks leading up to the show - with Pillman blaming Brad for using a fake injury to get out of their title match at the September Clash - and Pillman pretty much humiliated him in the rather short bout. IIRC, he came to the ring on crutches pretending to be hurt but then nailed Brad with them. *** Halloween Havoc 1992 - Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal 10-25-92, The Civic Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 3. Vader (defending Rick Rude's WCW U.S. Title) pinned Nikita Koloff with the powerbomb. An added note. I'm not sure if that was Nikita's last match but he did suffer an injury in the bout that caused him to leave WCW shortly thereafter. Also, Koloff missed the Russian Sickle on the floor - hitting the steel ring post instead and badly injuring his arm - which led to the finish ... if you want to add that. *** Clash of the Champions XIV 01-30-01, Gaineville, GA 8. Barry Windham & Arn Anderson defeated The Renegade Warriors at 7:29 when Windham defeated Jay Youngblood after a running lariat and superplex. The Renegade Warriors were Chris & Mark Youngblood, who were related to the deceased Jay Youngblood. *** Wrestle War 1991 02-24-91, Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Phoenix, Arizona 8. WCW U.S. Champion Lex Luger defeated Dan Spivey. After the bout, Nikita Koloff - who was in the audience - presented Luger with the new US title belt at the interview stage. After congratulating him on the win, he soon turned heel by blaming Luger for stealing the belt from him in 1987 and then attacked the champion. I believe this was Koloff's first appearance back since 1988. *** Slamboree 1993 - A Legends Reunion 05-23-93, The Omni, Atlanta, Georgia - Larry Zbyszko did guest commentary with Schiavone, subbing for Ventura; this show featured the debut of the new 4 Horsemen during a Flair for the Gold segment in which Paul Roma was named the newest member 2. Sid Vicious (w/ Col. Parker) defeated Van Hammer - Sid's surprise return after being gone 2 years 4. Brad Armstrong (sub. for Bob Armstrong) & Thunderbolt Patterson defeated Ivan Koloff & Baron Von Raschke in a "Legends Match". 5. Dory Funk ,Jr. fought Nick Bockwinkel to a 15-minute draw in a "Legends Match". 6. Rick Rude & WCW TV Champion Paul Orndorff defeated Kensuki Sasaki & Dustin Rhodes when Rude pinned Sasaki with the Rude Awakening after Orndorff pushed Sasaki off the top; Rude wore the US title to the ring after the controversail match in which he "won" it from Rhodes 7. Sting pinned The Prisoner (Nailz) with a crossbody off the top in a "bounty match" 8. Unified (WCW/NWA) World Tag Team Champions Steve Austin & Brian Pillman defeated Dos Hombres in a cage match when Austin pinned Zenk with the stun gun - The masked Dos Hombres were Ricky Steamboat and Tom Zenk; Zenk portrayed Shane Douglas in the match, as Douglas had just left the company; since he wore the mask for the duration of the bout, he was able to pull it off; Steamboat took off his mask late in the bout 9. NWA World Champion Barry Windham pinned Arn Anderson after hitting him with the title belt 10. Davey Boy Smith defeated WCW World Champion Big Van Vader (w/ Harley Race) via disqualification when the champion hit Smith with a chair on the outside of the ring; after the bout, a number of wrestlers - 2 Cold Scorpio, Bagwell, and others - attempted to make the save but were beaten down by Vader; eventually Sting came out for the save
