Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 28, 2004 Oakland is just slaughtering the Sox, 12-0 in the 5th I'm not counting them out.
Cartman 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 I'll also have a Fenway Frank in FS' honor. Ask Remy for his daughter's phone number. I'd rather that than the hot dog eaten in my honor. Oh, and see? I'm not the only one You're special.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 I think Ponson had a nervous breakdown. He's just laughing. Yeah and the Yankees' announcers are acting like he just raped a child. A pitcher should be upset over a poor outing, but they acted like he was committing the most disgusting crime to humanity possible by having a smile on his face. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 28, 2004 Well, when you just blew a three run lead and set your team up to be swept, it's not a good idea to fall into a laughing fit.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 28, 2004 This Wilson homerun thing is getting absurd. I had never personally seen an Enrique homerun until this year. Now three within a week.
treble 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 Halladay was awesome tonight. Got into a bit of trouble in the 1st then no more hits allowed until the 9th. It's too bad that he couldn't get the shutout, but Jason Frasor's 1 pitch save was nice. Hopefully he's the full-time closer here on out, since this bullpen by committe thing they were doing wasn't working out too well and Terry Adams seems to pitch better when the game's not on the line. Bored 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 Murderer's Row Talking about the Orioles pitching, right? Hey A's broke even against the Red Sox...sorta. Final total score for the series: 23-23. Not bad when your out scored 21-8 the first two games.

Not bad when your out scored 21-8 the first two games. Yeah, really. As well as the Yanks have been hitting lately, the Orioles' god-awful pitching all-around definitely played a huge factor here. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 28, 2004 (edited) We've been having a bitch of a time with bad pitching for a good portion of the year. Any way, we did what no other team has ever done in Baltimore, (including anyone who's faced the O's staff this year) so give them credit. Edit: In, not to. Bored 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 From the "holy shit" department, in Mark Buehrle's last four starts the White Sox have out scored their opponents 43-2.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 A throwback to last season, the Cubs load up the bases with no outs, the heart of their lineup up, and score nothing.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 http://yesnetwork.com/yankees/news.asp?news_id=235 Steven Goldman's column for the YES Network site. Goldman suggests DHing Jorge Posada on days he does not catch.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 The Cubs are just so frustrating to watch right now. In the same inning they blow a great chance to break the game open and don't capitalize, the Pirates get the bases loaded, actually cash in and now lead by three. Oh, and Clement fucking hit THREE batters in this inning and couldn't even make it through. That doesn't count two balls which came very close to beaming the batter. Unbelievable. Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 I was about to come on here and ask what Dusty was smoking to take down Hollandsworth, one of their better current hitters, with the bases loaded and put in Barrett. A grand slam sorta answered that one, though.

Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2004 Joe Borowski makes me absolutely sick to my stomach. I know closing is a tough job, but this guy is ridiculous. I'm at a loss for words. The Cubs come back and need three outs to get the win. But then Borowski can't get anyone out, gives off a leadoff triple, two hits and just when all hope looks to be loss, he manages to get two outs. And then what happens? He gives up a fucking grand slam. Fuck Joe Borowski. I don't care if he saved 20 games in a row, he is not closer material and this team is fucked if they are going with him for the long haul. Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted May 29, 2004 Cliff Lee has pitched a hell of a game for the Indians so far. The Cleveland offense hasn't struck Barry Zito for anything but Lee has gone 6 shut-out innings and has 8Ks. He's over 100pitches so he's probably done now. Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 29, 2004 The Cubbies are hellbent on ruining my World Series. correct me if im wrong... it's chicago over Houston right? Or are you wanting Houston to go so that your precious store brought yankees can beat Roger and Andy at the grandest stage...to show them what they are missing when they decided that family was more important right? sfaJack 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2004 Its maddening because they have LaTroy Hawkins anyway. Hawkins has said he prefers to be the 8th inning guy. And wasn't he terrible as a closer for the Twins?

Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2004 He can't be any worse than Borowski's been. You can say what you want for saving eight games out of eight chances, but none of those have come simply and he's always tended to be on the brink of blowing the game. This time, he just did it in the grandest fashion possible. I say give Hawkins a shot in the closing role. So what if he likes being the set-up man? Does he want to win or not? Borowski was never meant to be a closer, anyway, it was that closer by committee bullshit that landed him the gig in the first place. I was under the impression he was just trying to hold it together until they got, you know, a real closer.
