Patty O'Green 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2004 Sly's opening segment was nice and saved me two minutes worth of work. What did ya'll think of the show?
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2004 I'm a little confused. Is Frigid Soul back in the OAOAST??

NYU 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2004 I really enjoyed nearly everything on the card. The only thing I had a problem with was the Popick/Cappa segment near the beginning. Popick, I couldn't help but feel that this segment demeaned the storyline I'm trying to build with Cappa/Drek. I'm trying to gradually build it into a hot angle, and it seemed like your promo just referred to it as something that was there to waste Cappa's time. I don't know how many more times this Popick/Puerto Rican alliance is going to have to deal with Cappa, but could you at least make sure that it doesn't interfere too heavily with what I have going on between Cappa and Drek? As for the good: -GREAT opening segment with Thrillogy. It was an awesome way to bring all those wrestlers together and set up the huge Main Event at the Great Angle Bash. -Liked the Homeless Dan/Fonzie match. That kind of crazy humor is something that the OAOAST seems to be missing lately, so I really appreciated the match for what it was. I always knew Scott Baio was a treacherous bastard - and tonight, he proved it. -Like the direction that the GPX seems to be entering following tonight's interview with Abe. If this means that they may just start getting a little more focused, I could easily see them soon winning the Tag Titles. The Parental Indiscretion II match, with the DareDevil's Platform suspended above the ring, seems like it could wind up being a REALLY fun match. -Good promo segment between Zack and Cole. While it was very similar to the Austin/Cole interview in 2001, it was still able to retain a certain degree of freshness. The intimidation-factor here with Zack worked really well, and he's very quickly ditching the happy face roots he once had, going to the unchartered area of badass heel. And, while I don't know the history between Zack and Northstar, the confrontation between the two was very well done. -Future Eddy Kalm/Rick Edwards segments look like they could become some of the most entertaining segments on the show in the next few weeks. I have a feeling LPYC is going to have a field day with this character, and the contrast between Eddy and Rick basically writes itself. Could this possibly lead to an eventual Rick face turn? -Nice beatdown segment with Black T/GPX/The Saints. The idea of Black T going against the SWF Tag Team Champions is VERY interesting, but it still remains to be seen whether that will actually happen. -Hoff vs. Axel was just a very well done match. Hoff's segments during the show were just great as always, and the buildup of his character just makes you want to see him get his ass kicked. The match itself was exciting, and I liked Axel getting one up on Thrillogy at the end. Really good Main Event. *Any thoughts on my Drek segment tonight would be appreciated*
Hoff 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 Hoff's segments during the show were just great as always, and the buildup of his character just makes you want to see him get his ass kicked. Then you're going to LOVE this week's promo. Much love to Adam though, as the match was his work, not mine. As for your stuff Rob, I thought it was stellar. Fun Drek is just that -- fun -- but the mafioso character really lends itself to the darker edge and you did a very nice job of not cutting a standard heel promo. Oh, and *mawrcs teh fuxor owt* for NORTHSTAR~! Tell me something: when you sent me that message saying "I'll consider coming back," did you already know you'd be back? Bastard. I'll have more specific thoughts later. I've got to run for now.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 Uh, Tony, do you realize that while Zack and Calvin are the SWF tag team champions, they don't use the same characters in both feds? Your challenge doesn't make any sense.
Tony149 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 Uh, Tony, do you realize that while Zack and Calvin are the SWF tag team champions, they don't use the same characters in both feds? Your challenge doesn't make any sense. I know Zack & Calvin are the champs, that's why I issued the challenge, it wouldn't ruffle any feathers between the two feds. Besides, it was done in the spirit of ECW -- issue challenges to other promotions titleholders knowing there's no chance of it happening. And Zack read my stuff earlier, and had no complaints. I'm sure he understood it.

CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 Good show this week. Very nice effort all around. But I never thought you could "break kayfabe" in an e-fed. Huh, learn something new everyday I guess.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 But you said "The enemy is walking among us. Certain gentlemen seem to be having trouble understanding who they are: them or us, the OAOAST." So I was just saying that it doesn't make sense if they use completely different characters in both feds.

It's actually a reference to something us, but I can understand how one would interpret that comment differently. BT love the art of foreshadowing, and will say things that make no sense now but do down the road.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 Great show. A little promo heavy, but that usually changes as we get closer to the PPV. Plus we didn't have PRL this week and he usually contributes a match of some sort. I hope no one finds it cheesy that I'm doing the whole "mystery opponent" thing for GAB, but I really want to keep this one secret until the PPV because it's a big part of where I'm taking this storyline. Tell me something: when you sent me that message saying "I'll consider coming back," did you already know you'd be back? Bastard. No, you were not worked. When I sent you that message, I was considering coming back. Earlier today, I facetiously told Zack I was coming back next week, then he responded by saying that he was bringing me back this week, and I said "Okay!" I find it interesting, truth be told. It adds an element of intrigue. You're a good writer, which helps.
Hoff 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 Oh, one little thing. I love having Hoff in graphics, but please use this photo. It's not a major deal, I'm not mad or anything, but I actually put a fair amount of work into it customizing it and removing all the "Buff" paraphenilia. I also have a bitmap version saved on my HD if that helps. Graci!
Hoff 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 So anyway... I really, really liked this show. Really. The opener was cool, and really nailed what the Thrillogy was all about. Zack talking to the camera was a nice touch. I'm really, REALLY curious about basically everything with Rick Edwards: the "Boss," the mystery opponent, the counselor bit. LP has done a great job making Rick look good, and I look forward to his stuff every show. Drek I already commented on, but let's just say his writing is ridiculously good. I think that's about the right adjective. As I said, I also like the darker edge. I liked the little Sly-Crystal thing a lot, actually, as it helped establish a bond there. They've both had their woes, of course. The tag team scene is REALLY looking up, and all three teams cut wicked promos that had me riveted -- seriously. I can't wait to see where everything goes and I've got bells on for PI2. Zack's promo on Cole was golden as well, and of course that led to NORTHSTAR~! and I marked out like a schoolgirl at an N'Sync show. But very well done indeed, and it also helped sort of bring things together. SJ/Lightning Crew is starting to take shape, and if cultivated properly could be VERY interesting down the road. And of course, HUGE love to Adam for a killer match that I was proud to be a party to. He did a ***** job, and I loved it to death. Also, I was and am really excited about the upcoming angles that took seed there. So yeah, great show all around. No Dama again, nor Papa or PK, but hopefully they'll be around soon. Guest The Mad Cappa Report post Posted May 28, 2004 I'm still wondering in the segement between me and SJ about what is going on! Besides that, I liked the show, even though I found it to be a little bit more on the promo side. However, I'm already pumped up for the rematch with Drek next week!
