Damaramu 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 So it looks like the investigation in Colorado is over and nobody is in trouble. Hell Gary Barnett has his job back! I'm sorry but there is something going on there and they obviously didn't dig deep enough or found it and decided to ignore it because something is not right here. Something isn't right at all. What do you guys think about the situation? Oh and this would all make a great conspiracy movie.....
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted May 28, 2004 There really isn't any proof that he knew or had anything to do with it, despite what ESPN might want you to think. There are other people I think that should lose their jobs before him. Higher ups and probably a few assorted others who might've been involved.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 When some chick comes out on national TV and says that she got raped years ago at UC, but she's not going to press charges of course you fire the football coach. The whole story is bullshit, and ESPN is just being their usual PC selves. What other digging could be done? Look up "college fuck fest" web sites and see if UC parties are on there?... 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 What is real interesting is the NCAA just completely looked the other way and didn't even run their own investigation. I find THAT the most shocking about all of this. I'm not shocked nothing happened to Colorado or Barnett. Not shocked at all.

Since when has a "valid" excuse been needed? Heck, "because it's there" works for me. -=Mike

I find THAT the most shocking about all of this. I'm not shocked nothing happened to Colorado or Barnett. Not shocked at all. There was never any concrete evidence of what was going on. This was a case of ESPN blowing something way out of proportion and making it sound like it was black and white when it was really just a bunch of accusations flying around. At least it would be believeable then.

But it is the NCAA...they investigate if someone picks up a penny off the ground to see if a booster droped it. Exactly. And quite frankly, I'd trust a five time murderer with a history of touching corpses more than ANYONE at the University of Colorado to handle an investigation. I did research on this outside of ESPN and I cannot BELIEVE the NCAA just went, "ok Colorado, do whatever you want" when it came to something like this. And ESPN screwed up the story, Colorado has been receiving these allegations of sexual assault since 1994 not 1997. I'm sorry, but something is up at that school and the NCAA needs to go in there now. I don't trust Colorado to handle this and Colorado has never given the NCAA a reason to trust them before so I don't know why they are trusting the school now. the max 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 It was the Colorado DA that investigated the cases, and found, of the 9 accusations, that there wasn't sufficient evidence to form a case. 0-9. I don't think that the coach can be held responsible for babysitting his players 24 hours a day. Somewhere, the school has to take responsibility for its own actions, and stop putting blame on the coach for this.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2004 First of all I haven't gotten any information on this from ESPN. So scratch that off your list. I don't care what they say. Second of all I'm not saying Barnett should be fired. I'm saying that with everything that's going on it's just a little bit strange that NOBODY was punished. Nobody at all. But hey maybe we should say one of the women that was raped was the son of a booster and was illegally paying the student to play football. Then the NCAA will come down hard on it seems how that's all they care about.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2004 All I'm talking about are the alleged rapes -- regarding paying athlete-students, I have no idea what the story is...
