MrRant Posted May 29, 2004 Report Posted May 29, 2004 "The final internet chatroom exchange took place on 28 June last year. 'U want me 2 take him 2 trafford centre and kill him in the middle of trafford centre??' said one message. 'Yes,' came the reply. Less than 24 hours later, a 14-year-old boy was critically ill in hospital with stab wounds in the chest and stomach. At first it seemed as though a brutal, but straightforward, robbery had gone wrong. But yesterday the young 'victim' became the first person in this country to be convicted of inciting their own murder... [The boy] persuaded his friend, known as Mark, now 17, to stab him to death in order to pass a fictitious initiation test for the British secret services in a meticulously planned attack." http://www.guardian.co.uk/crime/article/0,...1227362,00.html
Guest FrigidSoul Posted May 29, 2004 Report Posted May 29, 2004 I like how the kid that did the stabbing was given 2 years of supervision(basically house arrest) as his punishment. You Brits sure do hand down a heavy sentence.
Guest Vitamin X Posted May 29, 2004 Report Posted May 29, 2004 Well it was basically a suicide attempt. Like isolating someone in a house for 2 years is going to help that matter much.
2GOLD Posted May 29, 2004 Report Posted May 29, 2004 Why did we save him? Seriously, what benefit could this moron have to society later?
Highland Posted May 29, 2004 Report Posted May 29, 2004 Damn, and I was hoping this was another successful example of Darwinism at work....
iggymcfly Posted May 30, 2004 Report Posted May 30, 2004 I like how the article treats it like the problem is that chatrooms aren't monitored enough. It's stupid. The kid could have called the person and told him to kill him just as easily.
Guest JacK Posted May 30, 2004 Report Posted May 30, 2004 Ba, what a dope. If your gunna get someone to assassinate you, at least get someone who could do it properly, with like a gun and all. Getting some psycho 17 year old to do it is just . . . crap.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted May 30, 2004 Report Posted May 30, 2004 I still don't see the point in getting someone else to do it... But yeah, either that kid had Macauley Culkin film characteresque smarts, or the 17-year-old is just a fucking dumbass. Probably a bit of both.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted May 30, 2004 Report Posted May 30, 2004 Actually, it's an excellent idea if you really want to kill yourself. Hire somebody who won't have any second thoughts or qualms about killing you. They're getting paid, why should they care? Plus, it shifts the guilt in a way. Frank Zappa has all the answers, though. "Ain't nothin' worse than a suicide chump..."
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 If I hired someone to do this I would want them to "surprise me".

"Ain't nothin' worse than a suicide chump..." Yeah, the plan was great, but... Unless you wanted to show your smarts before dying, there's really no point. But yeah, you probably can't feel guilty after death.
Krankor Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 How could the kid doing the stabbing not kill the other kid if he wanted to die? Both are really just incompetent bastards that hopefully will never reproduce.

But you're right about the second part.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 If I hired someone to do this I would want them to "surprise me". I could Sneak up from behind (insert...gay joke) and whack you with a lead pipe...sadly, it would probably pop a herniated disc in your back back in place.

In one post you cracked a Simpsons joke as well as one that worked on two levels. Kudos.
