I wouldn't mind the pre-sale passes either, though I don't even know if I'll have the money ready until Saturday anyhow. :(

I've been halfway busy today, so I only caught Triple H's crack at Carl DeMarco's giant head at the press conference. I did tape it, so I might watch some later.

We showed up, they had just given out the last wristbands (cause, apparently, they were only giving out 400 of them to ppl who bought tickets) so we said "fuck this" and went to get a bite. We had tickets to the show, and lemme just say.

"Painfully Average"

The full report should be up tomorrow. Here's what I sent Meltzer. *SPOILERS*

Hey Dave, this might be a lil out of order (see, A LOT out of order) as it was a pretty unremarkable show.

Dark Match 1: Tyson Dux vs. ?? - ?? won with a flatliner (?), seemed botched, but I missed it cause someone was in the way.

Match 2: Rico/Haas vs. Akio/Sakoda - Haas won with a German Suplex on Akio, Rico gave Sakoda a high kick. Rico is pretty over up here.

Match 3: Shannon Moore vs. Spike Dudley - Dudley won with his Acid Drop. Lots of "mat wrestling", which the crowd didn't much enjoy, the only high spot was Spike doing a plancha to the floor

Match 4: Mark Jindrak vs. Billy Kidman - good heat on Jindrak and a nice pop for Kidman. Notable move: each mans dropkick. MJ won with his backdrop/slam move.

Smackdown:

Booker T comes out and says that Taker was behind Bearers abduction because he wanted an excuse to get out of their match tonight. Cena comes out to a big pop. Lots of "Cena" chants. Booker said Cena copies him with his "you can't see me" hand wave ripping off Bookers "Five time" hand gesture. Cena then says if he were really copying booker, he'd "talk like this" (he talks in a deeper voice), and then "bend my knees down like this" ... blah blah blah, he basically says Booker "poops" himself and then makes fart noises. Pinnacle of the craft here. They get nose-to-nose and Angle comes out saying he wants Cena under control... long story short, Angle ends up on the ground, Booker attacks Cena from behind, Cena is left alone in the ring.

Match 5: Eddie Guerrero vs. Danny Basham - Eddie got a good pop coming out. Doug got banned from ring side after Eddie went on the outside and acted like Doug hit him with a chair. Finish was a frog splash.

Mordecai comes out. Talks about how our children are spoiled, our women are harlettes, and our men are corrupt and how "he" forgives them. However, Mordecai won't. Crowd liked the entrance but then kinda got bored with it by the end of the segment.

Match 6: Chavo Classic vs. Funaki - Classic won after Chavo Jr (who was doing commentary) pushed Funaki off the top rope. 4 women "stormed" the ring post-match and got all up ons Classic. Later on we find out he paid them. Har har.

JBL comes out and gets some good heat by saying he's from America and we Canadians should respect him. He has bullrope in hand and then goes on and on and on and on about the details of the match.

Match 7: Gunn/Holly vs. FBI - Holly/Gunn win with a powerbomb/neckbreaker combo where Holly was struggling to get Nunzio up for the powerbomb. Will probably be edited. Mixed reaction for the vets.

Noble does the Bikini thing. Each women got a beach themed "prop"; Torrie got sand from the sand box, Dawn Marie got a chair - which Noble sat in - Sable got a beach blanket and Miss Jackie got water. Miss Jackie won and all of them poured water on Noble for being so horny. All I can say is the 12 year old boys LOVED this.

Match 8: Rene Dupree vs. Rey Mysterio - some limb work by Rey as he targets Duprees leg early. Finish is a roll up after a Dupree-attempted powerbomb. Best match up to this point; but that's not saying much. Dupree forgot about the leg after a while but then remembered to sell it walking to the back. Adrenaline is a wonderful thing.

Match 9: Taker vs. Booker - Went to a No Contest (???) after Taker chokeslammed Booker and Paul Heyman came out and gave him a choice - either Taker joins with him, or Paul Bearer gets beat up by the Dudleys. Match of the night, Taker worked the arm... which was kinda pointless... and dominated the majority of the match up. He took a nice bump to the outside when trying to go for the rope walk. After Heyman left, JBL came out and asked Taker to be on his team - since they're from the same country: Texas. Then he said Taker was "eyeballin him" so he was going to kick his ass... but then got scared... and then attacked him anyways. Dudleys then come out. Dupree comes out. Cena comes out for the save. Eddie does too. Everyone is in the ring now - Dudleys, Booker, JBL, Dupree vs. Taker, Eddie, Cena. Cena FU's Dupree and they eventually fight to the back. Taker is left with Booker in the ring and he ends the show with a chokeslam.

Pops:

1. Cena

2. Taker

3. Eddie

Heat:

1. JBL

2. Mordecai

3. Jindrak

Editorial: They really need to change up this "WWE style". Everyone is wrestling the same match. EVERY match had a heat spot in it (headlock: clap, clap, clap, clap), dropkicks, vertical suplexes, hiptosses, and backbody drops. It got so repetitive and BORING. Wrestling is supposed to be an imitation of two men fighting. Well, this wasn't that. There was no reason behind anything; it was simply an imitation of two people wrestling. It had all the moves, but was total formula. There was no spark, no emotion, no connection. It is very, very sad.

We're gonna write up a diatribe on the whole day and either post it here or get a MOD to pin it.

WHen I was up at Halifax for an autograph signing they only let 400 people in for autographs as well. You had to have a wristband but at least you didn't have to buy anything.
