Whether it be an epic, an 80s comedy, an action film, whatever, how do you prefer to view?

Circumstances such as special effects come into play, but for the most part, my loungeroom with other/s, depending on who they are and the film, does it for me.

The cinema by far, it has the atmosphere going for it. As good as movies will be on tv they will ALWAYS be better at the cinema.

Yeah, but as good as the film quality is on the big screen, sometimes it's just nice to kick back in your own home.

And yes, as kkk said below, I was gonna add this. The morons that are in movie theatres sometimes.

Oh well - most of the movies where they would be present aren't worth seeing anyway.

nothing better than sitting with 1 or 2 friends in an empty theater. if the movie's great, it becomes a personal, meaningful experience. if the movie sucks, you're free to steal rolls of toilet paper from the janitor's closet & take turns throwing them across the auditorium, or ride the wheeled trash cans down the aisles.

not that i've ever done that.

Suuure you haven't.

Like we all haven't...

Although I'll partically agree with GTD, an empty theatre by myself is the best way.

here's a breakdown of what i remember doing in an empty theater:

'snake eyes'--took turns with my best friend riding the trash can down the aisle. went behind the curtain underneath the screen and threw my shoes at him, which i did not get back until after the movie was over.

'adaptation'--imitated the annoying loud laugh of a girl sitting a couple rows down whenever she'd laugh. for two hours.

'the king and i'--dropped my pants.

'training day'--fondled a loved one.

'return to me'--stole 3 industrial-size toilet paper rolls from the janitor's closet. we proceeded to toilet paper the first five rows, then take turns mummifying each other, & watched the rest of the movie covered in toilet paper.

In the comfort of someone else's loungeroom - on my own

Now that's an interesting choice option...

Yes i very much like watching movies alone in someone else's home...even better if it's a total stranger. I find it's a good way to introduce myself by gaining unknown entrance to a strangers home and watching Salo alone until someone comes home/wakes up.

On a related note:

Back when I worked at a theater my one friend and his new girlfriend came in to watch "Excess Baggage." Now I knew they'd be making out since hardly anyone was in the theater with them. It was a weekday afternoon showing, which means low turnout. Plus I sold them the ticket.

Anyway, when I was on my break one of the ushers told me about this couple in a certain movie that was in the back row making out. I an usher flashlight, snuck into theater, shined the light on them and yelled "And just what do you two think you're doing?"

Glad she wasn't going down on him because she probably would have bit his winky off she was startled so...

How about in a house, with a mouse? Or in a box with a fox? Or in the rain? On a train? With a goat?

Naked, with a naked hottie on my lap.

Then again, that is my favorite way to enjoy anything.

In a theater, definately. I saw Metropolis on a cheap DVD at home and I was bored to tears. I saw the Kino restoration at a local indy theater, and it was magical. Felt like time travel.

I like watching by myself at home. Theatres are really nice but the people around you can really ruin a movie, whether if it's some tall guy sitting in front of you or your friend chewing popcorn really loudly.

One of the cinemas in my city has a set of stairs on each side as you walk in, each leading up to a different screen.

I tell you, those screens are about a quarter the size of the regular big screens, which aren't even the wall-to-wall ones. I've only been in one once, and that was to see American Pie 2, luckily. If I was going there to see The Lord of the Rings or something that had great special effects as a highlight, I'd either get my money back afterwards or opt for a bigger screen.

My bed. I only go to the Cinema to see epic movies, and only if I want to see it really badly (ie LOTR trilogy, POTC), anything else can wait.
