Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 From THE AP Melton said the governor did not know that Brunswick planned to amend its law to allow for suspension of protest rights under a state of emergency. And Brunswick Mayor Brad Brown said he didn't know the governor had already declared a state of emergency until after the city adopted the legal change. "It was not the intent of our ordinance to coincide with the governor making that declaration at all," Brown said. "But it was done in case there was a true state of emergency, where something happened." Brown said the city was not ordering police to halt summit protests because of Perdue's order, though he acknowledged the new law makes that possible. "From a literal interpretation of it, I guess you can say that," Brown said. "From a practical interpretation of it, that's not going to be the case." What a joke.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 What are you doing in this neck of the woods? I heard through the grapvine that you like Batman and James Bond...
Jobber of the Week Posted June 3, 2004 Report Posted June 3, 2004 Is this kind of like how the security color level always goes up right around a massive anti-war protest?
Krankor Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 The governor's order places no limitations on demonstrations. However, the Brunswick City Council amended its laws last week to give police authority to terminate protests if a "state of emergency or disaster is lawfully declared." So basically if someone says "WOOO BUSH SUCKS~!!1" they can break up the protest. Little by little are rights are dwindling away....
kkktookmybabyaway Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 Tell me about it. They're building a concentration camp down the street from where I live...
Guest Wildbomb 4:20 Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 Come on, kkk, I've already got three extermination camps right down the street. We disguise them as nursing homes...
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted June 5, 2004 Report Posted June 5, 2004 My house is a concentration camp. I;ve had this French kid locked in the basement for months now. He wouldn't pronounce "Chowder" right.
The Thread Killer Posted June 5, 2004 Report Posted June 5, 2004 So basically if someone says "WOOO BUSH SUCKS~!!1" they can break up the protest. Little by little are rights are dwindling away.... You're not allowed to have the same rights as the rest of the world until you learn to spell the word "our" properly. Now up against the wall, pinko.
