Ivory and Jacqueline abusing workers in OVW?

I love Ivory now! If it means we get one less Torrie Wilson, I'm all for abuse!

But what if we lose another Trish?

You can't tell till the final product is formed what they will be. Just to say "oh such and such girl will just be another Torrie Wilson" isn't really fair.

It is fair if you are judging how they will work in the ring. The WWE has NEVER produced a woman that could work....and if you disagree....name one.

Well Trish turned out fairly decent and Victoria's not too bad either, but for the most part I agree with you here, the two best (by a fair margin too) female workers that WWE have, being Molly and Jazz made their names elsewhere.

On the subject of these two girls being "abused" though, I really wonder if they had any idea of what they were getting into before hand, fair enough, if Ivory or Jacqueline were trying to intentionally injure them, but if they were doing this to teach them some respect, I don't know it's very hard to judge IMO. This reminds of me of some of the stories that came from the Powerplant in WCW, when Madusa and Molly had to train the Nitro girls how to take bumps, where Madusa would supposedly get the shits with Molly, because while she was trying to train the Nitro girls the way she was trained, thought Molly wasn't pushing them enough and was being too soft.

I'm just saying, can't judge unless we actually see what they can do. I like to be of that frame of mind. I'm willing to give anyone a chance, simply because you never will know if you don't give them the chance.

I wouldn't even classify Trish and Victoria as good workers.........

Maybe this would clarify my stance on this. I have less faith in their trainers than I do in them being able to pick up what they are being taught. .

Funny. Last time I checked, they were called wrestlers.

I couldn't get through the first paragraph because of my severe lack-of-interest, but the photos of her have gotten a rise out of me... could someone summarize what exactly happened?

She said the WWE where trying to get them "in and out" of the training camp as fast as they could, she thinks that was the downfall of all of them.

She think's Jacky and Ivory where out to intentionally injure them.

Later her and the other females got "released due to an injury" from the OVW training camp.

OVW shouldn't be a nursery, but it shouldn't be prison either. Is there no middle ground between coddling and beating the shit out of the wrestlers? They're just fostering the every one is out to get you, so everyone for him/herself attitude. It helps turn people into no-selling politicking assholes later.

Oh, and working in WOW *is* paying dues. Having to work in such a shitty promotion with her shitty gimmick should count for something.

Sniff. I miss Riot.

Wussies.

Seriously, if you EVER read any of the Shoot Interviews that were reviewed on this site, cna you name any where the worker WASN'T getting his/her ass kicked by the trainer?

But they are women in the WWE - their roles aren't exactly the same as the mens today, let alone the same as the mens 10, 20 years ago. There is a MUCH lower standard (chewing gum while walking, maybe -if they get up to the level- walking and sucking on a lolipop) so I don't think the "c'mon, it's wrestling, it's tuff" is exactly appropriate here. I see it more as Ivory and Jackie wanting to go back on TV and the odds of them doing that are greater when there is less competition.

I'de be ok with that too, they should be getting established wrestlers instead of worrying about creating the next Trish. Same goes for the men.

Personally I'm absolutely stunned Vince didn't take one look at this chick and put her straight on Smackdown. The only coaching I reckon she would really need would be on the mic. She would work just fine for me as a valet having the odd bikini contest or bra & panties match.

Forget GAEA Girls. I'll never forget the training I've seen the AJW girls go through. If people had to go through that over here we'd never have any wrestling because nobody would be tough enough to make it.

Could you possibly enlighten us as to what happens in AJW training?

I've just seen bits and pieces here and there on various tape. Obviously, I'm no expert. Very tough. Remember back in the day they had to dwindle the class down from thousands to the very little that would have their first match. I don't know what they do know. What struck me very hard was what they were doing to increase flexability. They'd take someone sitting down, force their legs out as far as possable and than literally force the trainees backs down to the ground by having 2 or 3 larger men get on their backs. Stuff like that. It's more brutal than it sounds. They'd have the trainess stand on one leg for a duration of time and at the same time they'd have to their other leg over a cetrain height level. If they went below the line they'd push your leg back. Benchpressing in a full bridge posistion. The everfaithful squats. Just lots of physical stuff on top of normal exercise. I imagine they do a lot of the same stuff in GAEA as well.

That's not a fair comment. You weren't there when they were training and you weren't in their shoes either. I'd bet good money that these women are tougher than the majority of people on this planet. To say that they're wimpish is disrectful, probably wrong and ignorant. Sorry to be harsh but I really dislike comments like that.

Wrestling be it the actual sport or the one in question, is tough and it's not painless. People should know that.

And maybe that was a little...mean, but seriously, it's no big secret trainers are rough on their students. I guess the only problem is they are women. Cough:Moolah did the same shit:cough.

Moolah has a bad rep for other things besides training stars. True or not, I wouldn't let her near any trainees if I was running an organization.

Trish and Victoria ARE both good workers. Trish wasn't a product of WWE development though and while Victoria did spend time in OVW, she was already a trained worker before signing with WWE.

Posted

I'm sure Trish and Victoria are good workers - they fucking suck as wrestlers though. If the definition of a wrestler is someone who makes it look like they're seriously fighting, they are bottom of the barrell.

You know, looking at Bobbi Billard, I think -that with the right training- she could have been the next Pamela Paulshock.

I really mean that.

They aren't THAT bad. Sure they are nowhere near perfect but as far as womens' wrestling in North America goes they are solid enough.

Guest INXS

Compared to the men, no it's not a high standard but in comparison with other female workers they ARE solid enough. To expand, when they both wrestle they are competent, have good timing, can both sell fairly well...look at Trish/Victoria street fight or any Trish/Jazz match. All above average encounters.

Guest Salacious Crumb

Actually a few of the TNA women, Molly Holly, Jazz when healthy and several of the lucha women totally blow Trish and Victoria out of the water wrestling wise. Even for North America they are still pretty average to below average.

Guest INXS
Posted

Right..but Trish and Victoria can hang with Molly, Jazz et al. Unlike the likes of Lita. .

Guest Salacious Crumb

I seriously doubt it. Molly has completely dumbed down her moveset and probably only goes at about half speed. Jazz seriously has cut down on the stiffness and power moves.

Posted

*I*, untrained, am better than Lita. What sort of standard is that? "They're better than Lita". Geez. Their matches suck. All of em. They are completely unnatural in the ring and they expose the business with every punch, every kick, every move, and hell, every promo. It looks painfully choreographed and never once do I believe that they're really fighting, or that they really hate each other, or that it's real. And that's a knock I can put on half the roster, but it's the women who especially exemplify this horrendous "style" of "wrestling".

Guest INXS

Are you seriously naive enough to think that you are better than Lita? As poor as Lita has been as of late, this has to be a joke.

You know what they say....
