Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2004 By Dave Scherer of pwinsider.com A number of readers have sent word that WWE has upped the price of their webcast of the Badd Blood PPV to $34.95. They are promising a better picture, but that is steep. Since there is no middleman taking 60% of the gross, as there is with cable PPV buys, WWE does not need to charge so much for the online version of the show. I think they are just looking to maximize profits in what may be an unwise manner.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2004 It must be because the shows are getting SOOOO much better. Seriously. People should check out blast zones at WWE.com. It gives listings of movie theatres and places like that that are showing the ppvs.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted June 9, 2004 A Bite in the ass for all the cheap pricks who beg for the PPV webcast every month, since this will definitely cut the number of buyers. Unless people go halfies or something, it will just be the same to order the PPV...unless you don't get PPV access of course.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted June 9, 2004 How is it a bite in the ass for cheap pricks who beg for webcasts? Not everyone can afford to pay to watch a wrestling show. This is more of a bite in the ass of the people who buy the webcasts and now have to pay more money for them.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2004 Morons. No one will pay as much to watch something on their computer as to watch something on their TV. Do they have monkeys developing their business model or something?
Downhome 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2004 Well they just lost one customer in me, oh well. I've ordered myself, almost every webcast for the past year or two. I take it they didn't like my money.
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2004 Until I get the money and a satellite tv system set up, I'll continue getting the shows for free the next day...No skin off my ass. Unless they are gonna start broadcasting over the web in full screen at tv or better quality, this is going to fail. Even then, paying 35 bucks to watch on a 15 inch screen that also has more chance to bug out makes no sense. Not worth it, even if it's the greatest show anyone will ever see ever single month. Enigma 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2004 Ever since Vengeance '03, I have watched every PPV at the local Hooters except for No Mercy '03 and Judgment Day '04. Hooters + PPV + no cover charge = awesome. With shitty PPVs, you get what you paid for. And don't feel screwed.

This is more of a bite in the ass of the people who buy the webcasts and now have to pay more money for them. Do you even read this folder the day of a PPV? Last month I think everyone gave up, but sometimes we had 3-4 pages of people going "PM me password" "let me watch" "list password" "PM info" etc. etc. I'm sorry for people who only get to see it on their computer, but some of these people are the ones who let mobs of others get info to watch for free. People can just as easily get a copy of the PPV from someone here for like $10, which is a lot cheaper than the PPV, and well, before now, cheaper than the webcast. Unless they don't have VCR's either of course.

Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted June 10, 2004 So how long till the WWF starts trying to make bars charge people $35 apiece for watching the PPV?
Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted June 10, 2004 Ne one that spends 34 bucks on the current product is fucked in the head. So, how much did you spend on your ticket? And what's up with the "ne" stuff? Is it that hard to type an extra letter?
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 10, 2004 It's a part of the AIM culture we are brought up in these days... and I spent 25 bucks. I also spent 20 bucks on ROH. I support good wrestling to make up for supporting the company that supports Bradshaw.

Guest Cheech Report post Posted June 10, 2004 So now there's no reason to buy the webcast unless you have no other way to see it. And those fuckers have done something to prevent more than one person using an account.

I think they are just looking to maximize profits in what may be an unwise manner. That probably wouldn't be a problem if some people weren't mooching off other people's logins to watch the show and upping the bandwith usage per purchase. Gert T 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2004 Does anybody know how much bars are required to pay? I know on the bottom of K1 advertisements there is a different number to call if you are a commercial business. In Dayton we used to get WWE PPV's at BW3's until Wrestlemania XX. Hooters is just too expensive for me, and we drove by there an hour before WM XX and it was standing room only.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 10, 2004 I wouldn't imagine Bars getting charged TOO much we have three local BW3's and a hooters in this area and all those are usually very packed...WMXX was insane. And Yet i hear others here say bars stop airing them due to lack of customers... Strange i think.
Styles 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2004 OUCH. This really sucks. While home for the summer I just go with friends to Hooters and watch the show for about 10 bucks worth of food, but most of the year at school with no PPV access, I had ordered the webcasts pretty regularly to see the shows and at 17.95 didn't feel too bad about it. I can't even do a pool where everyone splits it now because of their new system. This sucks and is just totally unnecesarry. I guess in September, the card will really have to blow me away to get 34.95 from me (even if the quality it better-not that I found the old quality to be bad at all-the fact that I could record and keep a tape of the broadcast from the cable makes that 34.95 more worth it than 34.95 for the computer feed). Shit...
Mole 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2004 Wow, one of the good things about the webcasts was that they were cheaper.

Look at it this way, you end up spending 5-10 bucks less then the PPV (even less if you split wings etc with friends), you get a nice meal and get to look at cute waitresses for 3hrs (well ok some are skanky).
