converge241 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2004 So the Boston Police's Union decided to protest around the Democratic National Convention to bring light to their issues (which i wont get into becaue its irrelevant for the point) amongst all the attention that is gettign a story came out about a deli that was feverishly protested when it's owner crossed a previous picket line to attend the Mayor's speech (he was a pucbli "friend" of the mayor) still to this day the police protest and boycott this deli because of that..only problem is theres a new owner who has nothign to do with the previous owner and has no public affiliations with any parties yet constantly loses business as prospective customers are scared or crossing current protests/picketers outside the deli when policemen have been either told or, in some cases, reminded that its a totally different owner they reply with comments such as "i dont care!" and "maybe it would end if he came out in public support of us and stated for the record that he himself would never cross a line" why should this propreitor be bullied into pledging allegience OR be punished for something he had nothing to do with? He is now in legal proceeding to try and void the sale because of all these problems

kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2004 Now that was funny -- I read that the non-union workers were getting paid more than the union workers...
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted June 10, 2004 They should go the Reagan route and just shitcan the entire lot of them and replace them with people who'll do the job. Can't have people whose job it is to protect the public to do such asinine things. -=Mike
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2004 Could be a plan by the Boston government to replace police officers with cyborgs and robots, and then tear down the properties polluted with excessive crime and build a new, safer city...a city for our children... Nah, that would entail the idiots quitting en masse, under the assumption that they're indispensible. -=Mike
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2004 Boston has historically had problems with police strikes and dissention, it seems. Not to mention blacks. Anyway, there's this local talk-radio guy in Pittsburgh that has this skit (not sure if it's KDKA-exclusive or not) he runs whenever some union guy starts arguing with him. It's called the "Union Store" and it has some guy pimping Made-in-America Union products, like a DVD player for $500. I always crack up whenever I hear one of those bits...
