Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2004 Apparently, all of Fox's programming sense is being used up by the News Channel...
HandofFate 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2004 Mike...I haven't seen the Impact rating listed anywhere yet, so claiming it drew a crap rating is a bit premature. I've seen it as a 0.3 at various locales. Hey Mike, didn't you say like a few weeks back that you were doubtful if they would ever get a .2 rating if they got a show? TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2004 Hey Mike, didn't you say like a few weeks back that you were doubtful if they would ever get a .2 rating if they got a show? I believe he did. It's a very Mike thing to say. IIRC The much hyped debut of I, Max (the Kellerman show) did a 0.08 on Fox Sports Net. If TNA did better than that...they are shitting themselves with joy. I don't think they could manage a .3 on Fox Sports Net at 3pm...but a .1 would pretty much make it their top show. This is true. Drawing a .3 would in this godawful timeslot would definitely give them so leverage to get a better one. And I agree that a .1 would pretty much make it FSN's most successful show other than BDSSP, which only does the numbers it does because they show it at least 3 times a day. I've seen it as a 0.3 at various locales. Hey Mike, didn't you say like a few weeks back that you were doubtful if they would ever get a .2 rating if they got a show? Yup. They exceeded my expectation --- of course, assuming the 0.3 is actually the number. I haven't seen it verified. No Yes. One word answers rule. -=Mike
TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2004 Yup. They exceeded my expectation --- of course, assuming the 0.3 is actually the number. I haven't seen it verified. So why not give them credit for exceeding your expectation rather than shitting them for their "low" rating that is higher than you thought it would be. And yes, this is assuming that number is correct. But weren't you the person who introduced that number to this conversation? Why are you doubting it now? Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted June 14, 2004 Mike, if you wanna get on someone's case about making one word answers then fine. I'm going to get on you about never ever giving a soloution to any and all of the problems you find with the TNA product. Honestly, I do like TNA. Now with that said, there product isn't top notch and there is plenty out there better. Now Mike, what in your opinion would TNA have to do to get better? Seriously too, no funny sarcasm or any other bullshit. I challange you to do something you do on this site very little.......post something of relevence or something that may be...............uh......I don't know........positive? TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2004 I e-mailed Meltzer about the rating and this was his response: First show rating won't be out until 6/25 because they have to tabulate something like 23 different stations at different times.
Guest TDinDC1112 Report post Posted June 14, 2004 One word answers rule. -=Mike Next time ask a question that deserves more than a one word answer smart ass.

As pointed out by Meltz, the number I read was, in fact, not accurate. I suppose if it turns out to be closer to 0.2-0.1, you'll apologize, right? And yes, this is assuming that number is correct. But weren't you the person who introduced that number to this conversation? Why are you doubting it now? Because I can't find anywhere else that verifies it. That's what I get for listening to a TNA mark. Mike, if you wanna get on someone's case about making one word answers then fine. Thanks. I'm going to get on you about never ever giving a soloution to any and all of the problems you find with the TNA product. Well, I mentioned keeping JJ out of the ME picture for a while now. They don't seem to be doing that one too well. That is a biggie right there. An entire show that is there to basically stroke one man's ego is just sad. That --- and the constant spotfests in those never-ending "Int'l 6-man matches" need to end. It was fun once. It's old now. Honestly, I do like TNA. Now with that said, there product isn't top notch and there is plenty out there better. Now Mike, what in your opinion would TNA have to do to get better? I actually make suggestions constantly. People choose to ignore that I do so. I'm not going to waste any more of my time providing more than the two I provided here. I've mentioned more than a few ideas more than a few times. Next time ask a question that deserves more than a one word answer smart ass. Nah, with you, less tends to be more. I don't want more than one word answers out of you. -=Mike

The promotion WON'T change its ways. 1) Is JJ still the World Champ, in spite of NO desire to see that happen? Yup. 2) AMW still the uber-tag team? Yup. 3) Kid Kash a ME player? Nope. 4) Styles a World Title contender? Nope. And, yes, Impact did suck. It was a heaping helping of nothing. Velocity was better. -=Mike
Guest TDinDC1112 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 Don't you realize that AJ Styles is a main eventer there. If he happens to be doing the X-division, then the X-division is elevated to the main event slot. If he was doing tag matches, that would be main eventing. AJ isn't being devalued by not going for the world title.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 But AJ is being devalued by not offering a reason for going back to the X-Division. He never said he lost to people he used to own, so he's "going back to his roots." He just kinda appeared in the X-Division again. Go, TNA booking, go! I will do no such thing because we were all working on a premise supplied by you. My question was that if they did indeed get a .3, like you stated that you had heard, why not applaud them for doing better than you expected rather than down them for the "low" number? It was clearly hypothetical.

Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 Wednesday night is perfect. No potential for losing viewers for any WWE-related reason. Raw and Smackdown are obvious, the Smackdown tapings are on Tuesday nights, and Friday-Sunday are WWE house shows. Sounds silly to think that WWE tapings/house shows would impact them that much, but they need all the wrestling fanbase they can get to be at home, watching TNA. Plus, they're used to Wednesday nights as it is. No problems.
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted June 15, 2004 4) Styles a World Title contender? Nope. You do realize that Styles asked to be put back into the X Division right? Because he saw the writing on the wall. As long as the head booker thinks he should be World Champ --- why should anybody try? -=Mike ...And Kash is still the best heel the company has... Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2004 dv, I've been ranting to put Kash in the ME since he became a GREAT heel last September/October. Hell, for three months, he was the single most over heel TNA had. His mannerisms are impeccable, he can hold his own in the ring, and while his voice is a little awkward during promo's he usually says some good stuff. Plus...HE FEARS NO MAN! Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted June 15, 2004 Why is it so hard to believe that maybe just maybe Styles was bored with the heavyweight style and wanted some different people to work with? Besides he's gotten more Impact airtime then Jarrett has and they plan on BUILDING THE FUCKING IMPACT PROGRAM AROUND STYLES AND THE X DIVISION!!! GET IT THROUGH YOUR FUCKING HEAD HE'S BETTER OFF AS THE X DIVISION CHAMPION!!!

More money is there for main eventers than for X Division guys, most likely. Wrestlers don't work solely because they love what they do. They also have a profit motive. -=Mike
