Bored 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2004 A's are fucking idiots. They are trying Jim Mecir at closer AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!! He's their worst reliever for crying out loud! Already loaded the bases, nobody out. Scutaro makes his first error of the season, two runs in. Save blown. Game over, A's lose. The "fire Ken Macha" avatar goes up now. Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2004 The error was huge, since they had Sanders, Pujols and Rolen up afterwards with a guy at third and no one out. Figures that the Cubs sweep the Stros, while the Reds and Cards sweep their respective series. At least they're hanging in there.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 18, 2004 I'm going to look up Juan Brito's stats. If they're what I think they are, just bear with me as I implode and throw an hour long fit. ::sigh:: First Major league homerun. But of course. And my Yankees can't hit a god damn thing off a guy with a career almost 5 ERA. Why the fuck would Murderer's Row hit Steve Sparks? What on earth would lead me to believe, that going into this game, we could at least scrape five hits? When this team is good, it's good but when this team is bad, look the fuck out. Scutaro's error was bad but who gives a shit when you load the bases with nobody out. The second Mecir stepped on the mound the A's had already lost. How the the hell can they justify using their worst pitcher on the entire team (well Rincon against righties might be the worst pitcher in baseball) to try to a close a game? It makes my head hurt to think how many games they'd be up on the Angels right now if their bullpen was halfway decent.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 18, 2004 I tried to go to my happy place, but my fucking happy place is Yankee Stadium, so that didn't fucking work. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST, YANKS, IT'S THE GOD DAMNED 2004 ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS. They're not even a passable team. At the very least, play up to their level. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 18, 2004 I hate when this team doesn't want to play. It ruins all good feelings I have. And if this HORSESHIT continues against Weaver, God help them.
JHawk 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2004 As annoying as Yankee fans tend to be, only Anglesault can be unsatisfied with having the best record in baseball. Hell, I have to watch my Indians lose two out of three to the fucking Mets because for some reason they refuse to reach the .500 mark, and you're bitching about one bad game. Are you seriously trying to convince me that the Yankees should be undefeated? Because everytime they lose, you claim they didn't try to win, and I know damn well that's not true.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2004 Welp, I was going to ignore AS' pointless bitching about not being able to win every single game, but JHawk, just ignore it. He's a shining example of why people hate not only the Yankees, but their "fans," who aren't gratified unless the win all the time.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 18, 2004 Because everytime they lose, you claim they didn't try to win, and I know damn well that's not true. Sorry if I don't see Steve Sparks shutting down "Murderers Row" as plausible. Be warned, I will go ballistic on the first "Any given Sunday" type response. There are games that you should, by all accounts, lose. There are some that could go either way, and their are some that you have no right losing. This was door number three. Bored 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2004 Let's not go down this road again...just let him vent JHawk. To calm down from the idiocy of Ken Macha and the pathetic Jim Mecir, what the hell are the Marlins thinking trading for Koch? Total bailout for the White Sox there. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 18, 2004 but their "fans," who aren't gratified unless the win all the time. Who is gratified after a loss? And when the Yanks finally have a hard fought loss, I'll say so.
JHawk 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2004 Let's not go down this road again...just let him vent JHawk. I'll let him vent because I know it won't do any good. To calm down from the idiocy of Ken Macha and the pathetic Jim Mecir, what the hell are the Marlins thinking trading for Koch? Total bailout for the White Sox there. Because the Marlins panicked when Beckett went on the DL. Simple as that.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2004 but their "fans," who aren't gratified unless the win all the time. Who is gratified after a loss? And when the Yanks finally have a hard fought loss, I'll say so. No one, but there are some games where the other team simply played better. Doesn't mean the losing team was trying to lose. Vent if you'd like, but why don't you ever look at the big picture? The Yankees still have a 5 1/2 game lead over the Sox, who just dropped two games to the Rockies. So it's not just the Yanks. Anyway, I found it funny that cash had to be thrown from the Sox to sweeten the trade.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 18, 2004 Well, somehow we've managed to get totally shut down by the atrocious Diamondbacks, losing a game there was no way we could lose in a series we were all but guaranteed to sweep. Once my eye stops twitching, I shall go to bed and never speak of the Arizona Atrocity again. We're off to LA, where we face more awful pitchers, including the guy that defines the term. Being optimistic, I hope we take one.
JHawk 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2004 Weaver will beat the Yankees just because God likes it when Anglesault does that eye twitching thing.

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 18, 2004 (edited) Okay, I'm over it now. They just have to keep these games few and far between. The main reason I get angry is because they tend to pull this on mediocre-bad pitching. It's infuriating and mind boggling. And then they could turn around and shock Trevor Hoffman or beat up a Colon (who granted, isn't good so far). It's irritating. Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2004 So, what's everyone think the Arthur Rhodes' "personal reasons" for missing a couple games this week are? "He sucks" isn't a valid reason, me thinks.
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted June 18, 2004 I take back my comment in site feedback of Anglesault "calming down and not being as bad". Go sign up for a livejournal and bitch in there for 5 hours because not one person here wants to constantly here your complaining. You ruin these threads single handidly. Also the Marlins traded for Billy Koch? *goes to look this up* Well they gave up a minor league infielder and the Marlins are pretty much set at 3B, SS, 2B, and 1B for years to come. They got Koch and cash so they aren't going to have to pay him his whole remaining salary. It seems like he's going to end up being their Urbina this year. A guy brought in to throw hard fastballs in the 8th to get to Armando Benitez in the 9th, or give Benetiz a night off in the closer's role. I think Koch will be better off away from Chicago since he fell into some bad habits there.

He's attending a funeral. The A's bullpen has been so bad that Rhodes actually has probably been their second best reliever.

Fuzzy Dunlop 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2004 That asshole foul ball guy from The Rangers game was on Mancow's Morning Madhouse today. He says he didn't realize what he did at the game, but later he saw highlights and felt bad about it. Mancow, Stacy, and the rest did not believe he sincerely felt bad, and thought he just disliked the publicity and the way he's being treated now, so the foul ball guy admitted that after this happened people were throwing baseballs at his truck. Then Mancow allowed listeners to call in and give their opinions of the whole incident, and the guy listened at first, but then said he was hanging up and said "All these people are stupid!" He then said at least it wasn't like in Chicago, where Mancow broadcasts from obviously, where a guy going after a foul ball could affect a team's World Series chances. Yeah, asshole, let's see if the TEXAS RANGERS have ANY World Series chances. Turd, the show's resident southsider, said "Sox fans loved that! Sox fans loved that!" until he eventually shut up, being outnumbered by Cubs fans on the show.
