This Doesn't Sound Too Good

Beirut, Lebanon, Jun. 15 (UPI) -- Iran reportedly is readying troops to move into Iraq if U.S. troops pull out, leaving a security vacuum.

The Saudi daily Al-Sharq al-Awsat, monitored in Beirut, reports Iran has massed four battalions at the border.

Al-Sharq al-Awsat quoted "reliable Iraqi sources" as saying, "Iran moved part of its regular military forces towards the Iraqi border in the southern sector at a time its military intelligence agents were operating inside Iraqi territory."

http://washingtontimes.com/upi-breaking/20...55649-4707r.htm

Wow, the Iranians plan on filling a vacuum if the US leaves. Why do I have a sneaking suspicion that they might choose to fill the vacuum if the election doesn't go their way?

That'll create an interesting hypothetical situation: If Iran invades Iraq only months after we've liberated the country and helped them establish sovereignty, will the doves of the left call for the U.S. to come to Iraq's rescue?

Oh no, Bush needs to keep the troops there then.

1) Please shrink down your Angel pics. No need to stretch the screen.

2) Most people, myself included, want nothing more to do with Iraq.

1) It fits on my screen fine.

2) Yeah I know most people don't want the troops there anymore. I was just being an ass.

Common sense says yes... it's the responsible thing to do... you can't go into a country, fuck the place up, attempt to transplant democracy, do a shitty job of doing it, leave, and then say "well guys, you're on your own... good luck, and let freedom ring"

Iran have since denied this claim and are comitted to working with the Iraqi govenment to bring peace and stability to the region.

Iran Deny Troop Build Up

And we all believe them don't we folks? Once again I'm shocked (SHOCKED!) that Iran would be meddling to gain control of the Shi'a majority Iraq. SHOCKED I SAY!

Whee, the regional destabilization is already underway. The Middle East is so fucked after we pull out of Iraq it isn't even funny.

And couldn't some quick photographs show if Iran was building their military up or not? It isn't something like a plan that can be kept in someone's head, a military buildup would be a clearly visible thing. Iran denying is like saying there's no elephant in your living room when a large, gray, fleshy wall has blocked off the entrances to the room.

Or, perhaps, like saying there's no WMDs in Iraq and there never were when they suddenly start showing up all over the place. Or insisting that Saddam and al Qaeda would never have worked together when there's decades of hard evidence proving they did.

Oh, wait...

Marney, Marney, Marney --- you've been conned by the evil, vast, right-wing media hype machine.

You know, the one that controls NBC, CBS, ABC, etc.

Nothin' but lies.

Heck, Saddam liked PUPPIES.

Like this one.

The day WMD starts "showing up all over the place" in Iraq is the day I buy you an elephant.

I'd like to see this "decades of hard evidence". You should have mailed it to the 9/11/Saddam inquiry.

INXS, we have two options:

1) Assume that 20 years of intel was wrong.

2) Assume Saddam hid and or moved out WMD shortly before the war.

Or perhaps used some of his WMD already, sold a part of it to either terror groups or other nations and destroyed the rest.

You have to remember that inspectors, both UN and US, were in Iraq for a long time and had not come up with a trace.

Why's that?

When you've lost an arguement don't turn to flaming me. If you do it again I will report you.

Feel free. If you can point to where I flamed you, have a blast.

It's not my fault your arguments have the brilliance of a dying flashlight.

BTW, "declaring victory" when you've had your ass handed to you is just pathetic.

I meant why do you think my brain might be screwed up? Which of my points to you disagree with and why?

Your points are illogical and patently false. You are too pig-headed to realize that. You don't seem capable of actually generating plausible conclusions from the data you present.

You either have mental deficiencies --- or you're dumb.

Take your pick.
