More on Roh & RF video...

Recommended Posts

Guest glennsoe

After stories broke publicly last week featuring Rob Feinstein's claims that he was still involved behind the scenes of Ring of Honor after publicly stepping down last March, ROH lost their local promoter in the State of Maryland, Dick Caricofe as well as their Glen Burnie, Maryland venue Michael's 8th Avenue.

Caricofe, who promotes the National Wrestling League, contacted ROH earlier this week and informed the company that he wasn't going to continue on as their local promoter in Maryland. Caricofe reportedly didn't feel comfortable continuing his association with the company at this time after learning of online reports of Feinstein's claim that he had been secretly involved with the promotion after publicly stepping down as President of ROH and RF Video.

With the loss of Caricofe, Michael's 8th Avenue quickly informed ROH representatives that the company was now in breach of their agreement to hold the show. It is illegal to hold a professional wrestling event in the State of Maryland without a licensed promoter.

The stories involving Feinstein came out this past week as part of the fallout of a split between Ring of Honor and former parent company RF Video. As one can imagine, there is a lot of bad blood between those involved.

Who's going to be the first worker to leave over this story?

I'm honestly not surprised about this. Anyone with a quarter of a brain the size of a mouses should know that RF wasn't gone.

Well if Samoa Joe's a man of his word, he'll leave:

"To Fans and Foes of ROH, please be assured that if indeed the dismissal of Rob is a fake, I have no problem making such public, handing back the belt and/or, melting it down for a new 9 iron and hopefully catching a few rounds of golf with Bob Barnett."

I'll believe it when I see....or read it. I find it hard to swallow that NO ONE in the last 3 or so months hasn't realized he's still around.

They should move the Maryland show to Dayton...Anyone who saw the show has said the smaller but hot crowd at the Fairgrounds was one of the best crowds ever.

from PWTorch.com

The June 24th Ring Of Honor event will now be at the Ramada Inn Airport South on 76 Industrial Hwy, Rt 291, Essington, PA 19029. This is right at the Philadelphia airport and just off I-95.

Tickets will be $15 for reserved first and second row, $5 for everything else. If you have tickets to the Glen Burnie show you can bring them to Philly and get a refund that night or email [email protected] and they will tell you how to get refunds. If you hold tickets for Glen Burnie and want the same tickets for Philly, email [email protected] and they will reserve the same seats for you. All tickets will be sold the night of the show at the door.

The lineup for the show remains the same:

The main event will be a six man elimination with the six participants determined in single matches earlier in the night. The qualifying matches are:

-ROH World Champion Samoa Joe vs. Matt Stryker in a non-title match

-Half of the ROH Tag Team Champions Colt Cabana vs. Trent Acid

-Bryan Danielson vs. Jack Evans

-Jay Briscoe vs. Homicide

-Alex Shelley vs. Mark Briscoe

-John Walters vs. Austin Aries

CM Punk will come face-to-face with Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat in their second confrontation!!!

CM Punk & Colt Cabana will defend the Tag Titles for the first time in a Tag Team Scramble vs. Special K vs. Dunn & Marcos vs. Outcast Killaz. If either Punk or Cabana are pinned, they will lose the tag titles to the team that pinned them.

Plus more!!!

Sorry for the venue change, but it was beyond our control. The event will go on now in Philadelphia with super cheap ticket prices!!!

For $5, I might actually check it out.

Yeah, trusting someones word when they work for a wrestling promotion. Next everyone will think George Dubya Bush is smart because his brother gave his word on it.

Well, why would Feinstein go around and tell everyone he's was still involved if he was? He'd have to know that'd hurt the company, so for him to come out and say 'I'm still working there' would thusly be a deliberate attempt at such. So even if he is, by not going to see them, your doing exactly what he wants.

Where in this story does anyone read: "Rob Feinstein was with the company all along"? It baffles me sometimes how people read what they want to read instead of what is actually written.

Since these new developments "broke" a week ago, here is what has happened:

- 1wrestling, who claimed they would never cover ROH again and clearly had an agenda against them, reported that Feinstein was with the company all along. Their sources include Feinstein himself and "several sources close to the situation". First off, why would anyone "close to the situation" (meaning someone with ROH or RF Video) talk to 1wrestling about any of that stuff especially with their TNA involvement? Secondly, Rob Feinstein's word is all of a sudden gold? Feinstein possibly couldn't have been trying to stir trouble in the midst of the splt in order to hurt ROH

- Michael Johnson reports on the split. His take is slightly (though significantly) differnt than the one posted on 1wrestling. He says that it became clear that Doug was loyal to Gabe and that was causing problems already especially with Feinstein wanting to come back. So they began planning the split at the April double shot. He never once states that Feinstein was with ROH along. Rather that Feinstein was simply calling up sites (including PWInsider) and telling them that he was never gone. Again, the only word we have that he was there the all time is Feinstein's and it is laughable that people want to believe him now. PWInsider also states that Doug is still going to run RF Video and that Feinstein won't even be back there in any official capacity for the time being. Johnson's articles give no impression that Feinstein was with the company the all time, only that the split is happening because Doug's loyoalty to Feinstein was going to/was already causing problems. He's given updates several times and they've alls aid pretty much that same thing.

Yet, people read things that say what they want to believe. 1wrestling and Rob Feinstein are two of the less credible people you will find (especially with Ryder and his TNA involvment) especially on this situation, yet people go by what they say as gospel, ignoring a more credible source on the situation. I don't understand that.

Again, I am not claiming that anything is one way or another. My point is that maybe people should read everything and think about things logically instead of believing what they want to believe.

From Michael Johnson on 6/13/04:

"According to several wrestlers who didn't wish to be named, Gabe Sapolsky and other ROH officials apologized for keeping them in the dark, but noted that once they learned that Rob Feinstein wasn't completely gone from all aspects of ROH, they needed to quietly make plans to break off from RF Video without tipping anyone off and sabotaging the plans. Sapolsky also noted that once he knew about Feinstein, he stopped doing interviews about the matter so as not to further damage the company"

So here it is. You can keep saying "where does it say that he wasn't gone." But I knew I've read it a few times. You should take up your own point of "reading everything."

Great, in about a few hours this will turn into the ROH protection group (Those who are still convinced RF isn't around) and the ones who throw all the evidence in their faces.

What happens backstage shouldn't hurt the product, so why does everyone make such a big deal about it? Just admit you think he (RF) is still around. It's not gonna damage the match ratings of a Samoa Joe/CM Punk match or whoever is fighting for their World Title on the card.

Rob Feinstein shooting himself in the fucking head would wrap all of this up nicely and let us all move on without having to hear unsupported crap from both sides for the rest of eternity.

Rob, do it. End your miserable fucking life and kill yourself.

That is all.

I figured he would've done it by now. But, I guess he will just start up a new company.

It can be called the ARA, with Bradshaw as the co-owner. I won't say what ARA stands for, so let's play the guessing game.

I actually thought "Anal Raping Association" but that would be too kind.

I don't know if anyone else subscribes to the Observer (well I know many of you do, but the point is Im not copying all of that text, if that guy who always hijaks the observer and reposts it wants to he can though) but Dave goes in detail revealing how Rob never intended to be gone and in fact had been working out of the RF Video offices the whole time (in fact when Gabe said they were gonna change RF Video's name it never happened because Rob vetoed it). Apparently it was in April when Gabe found out for sure and he stopped talking about the subject. Doug Gentry knew about it the whole time and is considered just a paper owner and in fact still ROOMs with Rob despite Gabe and Silkin's protests. So basically Silkin has bought out Rob's share of ROH and is looking to get him to sign a no compete/confidentiality clause because Rob both wants to start his own new promotion with Doug and further more claims he will reveal that Gabe knew he was around the whole time and they want to silence him. Meltzer even hints that Gentry never really signed the TNA form since he was in on it with Rob the whole time, which might further explain TNA's banning of its workers from ROH.

That's just a summary of a really pathetic, confusing situation. It sounds like Gabe isn't the one to blame though as it sounds like he genuinly had been trying to get Rob out and that has resulted in the the 2 company's split but Gentry sounds like an asshole. Anyway, the whole article is pretty much crow on the faces of all the ROH marks that screamed "JUST TAKE HIM AT HIS WORD!!! ROB IS GONE DOODD!!!"

I actually WANT to see everyones argument that RF isn't around. The last time was a benefit of the doubt, but now....eh.

Ok, trying to clear things up.... Silkin bought out Feinstein's part of ROH, but not RF Video, right? So does this mean that RF IS out of ROH, but not RF? Someone clarify that a bit, as the Observer summary confused me on that point.

Yes, RF Video is now separate from ROH. They will sell other items but no ROH merchandise. I guess ROH will make and sell their own DVD's, shirts, etc. from now on.

I think a lot of fans wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, or wanted to get as much info from all sides as possible. But this, ouch. I want to hear Gabe's side of things, although I have no idea what answer he can give. So it looks like that's it from ROH for me.
