Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 The Elite Guard, complete with marching and fucking red berets, are out to face 3LK for the start of the show. As expected, it's Onyx, Hernandez, and Collyer.

Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 Trinity gets herself a competitive squash match against Angel, then moonsaults onto Angel, who has a chair on her back. Convoluted, ugly spot between these two. And then after Tenay talks about how Desire must be cringing at the back attacks from Trinity, she hits a security member in the BACK with a CHAIR. HUH??????? dpac 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 God damn. Looks like Russo's bleeding the hard way from a Jarrett guitarshot. I thought Russo was done with wrestling, wasn't he going to some religious school.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 You're putting way too much thought into a meaningless women's match. I don't know, that just struck me as being incredibly stupid. And Russo is still involved as the Director Of Authority.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 And Raven's taking a screwdriver into Sonjay's head. God damn, Russo's bleeding, Raven's stabbing Dutt. What happened to family programming?
Guest INXS Report post Posted June 17, 2004 From PWBTS.com... "Last week, TNA promised Chad Collyer a contract with the company which he would sign tonight at the Wednesday PPV. Tonight, TNA have informed Collyer that he won't be offered a deal after all. The people that I have spoken to speculate that TNA merely promised Chad Collyer a contract to get him to come in for tonight's PPV (in which he put over signed talent). I have no word on the status of the other guys who were reported to have been due to sign deals tonight."

Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 You know, I'm digging everyone's new outfits, but those skulls on Abyss' outfit need to go. He's looking WAY too much like One Man Gang at certain angles.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 The Naturals get squashed on Friday, then attack AMW on Wednesday? That rumor of Nosawa and the Japanese guy facing AMW for the Tag Titles next week is true. Mini Luchadores on TNA PPV next week!

Guest Donners Report post Posted June 17, 2004 Sounds like a pretty good show. Two ***+ matches from Keller and decent ratings for the short matches. It's amazing how spot-on the spoilers were.
Guest BrokenWings Report post Posted June 17, 2004 I didn't mind it this week. I enjoyed Styles/Dallas, Brown/Abyss -v- AMW (minus the shitty ending) as well as the main event, even though I felt it was a bit of a clusterfuck. I felt it did better than it deserved, really. It didn't look that great going in, but the matches got enough time for the most part, and made me care about it.
Guest spags56 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 from the meltz: This is a brief report as I had a family function tonight but did see the show. It was the best PPV they've done in a long time and the first in a while where I'd strongly recommend getting the replay. Good crowd. Some strong wrestling, interviews and angles. 1. Konnan & Ron Killings & B.G. James beat The Elite Guard (Onyx & Hotstuff Hernandez & Chad Collyer) in 5:40 when Killings pinned Hernandez after an ax kick. Crowd into it and a good match. Jarrett ran in with his guitar to hit Killings as the Guard beat him down. Who made the save? If you guessed Konnan or B.G., or even Mike Tenay, you guessed wrong. It was Vince Russo, who Jarrett clocked with a guitar. Russo even bled, which I thought was a no-no. Later in the show, they showed Russo being taken to the hospital 2. Trinity pinned Angel Williams in 4:00, and gave her a chair shot and moonsault afterwards. Desire made the save. They had a good brawl. Next wee is a stretcher match with Desire vs. Trinity. 3. Sonny Siaki & Pat Kenney beat Johnny Swinger & Glenn Gilberti in 8:04 when Siaki pinned Gilberti with a Siakalypse. This was the most heat they've had for this feud. Losing team gets humiliated. Later, Swinger had to dress up like a hula dancer and Gilberti as a leprechaun. David Young looked at Swinger when he was dressed like that and acted lie he figured he was a cross dresser. 4. Raven destroyed Sonjay Dutt and refused to pin him until a mad ref fast counted. He continued to destroy him, taping up his hands and jabbing his head with a screwdriver. No blood here. Sabu ran in, and Raven slapped him around, but Sabu wouldn't attack Raven. Dusty ran in and challenged Raven, but Raven backed off. Later in the show Raven announced he was apologizing for what he'd done and would have a tribute to The Sheik next week. 5. A.J. Styles pinned Dallas in 10:51 with a sunset flip. Kid Kash, on crutches, interfered a few times. An excellent performance by Styles. In some ways, it was his best in a long time, because he had a good match out of a very limited guy as opposed to having good matches with god workers that do his style. D-Lo Brown made the save, said Styles winning the X title inspired him, and he wants the world title 6. AMW beat Monty Brown & Abyss via DQ in 14:14 when The Naturals ran in and laid out AMW with powder and chair shots. They also stole their ring jackets as they left. Really good match. They made Brown look like a real player here. Mike Tenay did a taped interview with Team Canada and Scott D'Amore. When he tried to talk to the wrestlers, D'Amore went crazy and went psycho on Bobby Roode and morphed into the crazy Ivan Koloff voice. 7. Eric Young & Roode & Petey Williams beat Jerry Lynn & Prime Time & Chris Sabin in 12:48 in a flag match when Young posted his Canadian flag to win, thanks to D'Amore hitting Lynn again with the hockey stick. Another very strong match, particularly Williams and Sabin, who are tremendous together. I thought this show was a lot better than Sunday's WWE show. Next week is the anniversary show Minis from AAA Trinity vs. Desire stretcher match Raven does a tribute to The Sheik AMW vs. Nosawa & Kazushi Miyamoto for NWA tag titles A.J. Styles vs. Kid Kash for X title Jeff Jarrett vs. Ron Killings for NWA title
Guest spags56 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 Looks grand.. Tis a shame the 2nd anniversary show was put on the backburner for the whole Impact debut. Should have been building for months, but alas it was not.
Guest Donners Report post Posted June 17, 2004 Meltzer's just lost any respect he may have had from Mike with that last line.
Guest JacK Report post Posted June 17, 2004 That's GOLD Donners . . . GOLD! I wonder why they had Raven back off from Dusty though . . . Dusty's kind of old, and fat. Yeah that anniversary card is very dissappointing. Terrible even. TNA doesn't book it's anniversary shows too well though, I mean last time they had AJ win it the show before, but it's what you get from weekly ppv's I guess. TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 I didn't order this week because I wasn't too excited about the lineup, but it seems like a good show. Wouldn't you know that they'd have D'Lo return the week I'm not watching, since I've been screaming that he should come back for about 3 weeks. I'm soooo looking forward to inevitable AJ/D'Lo vs Kash/Dallas match. My only other complaint from reading the results was WHERE'S KAZARIAN? He's too cool to be lost in the shuffle TNA!!! TheBigSwigg 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 The Naturals ran in and laid out AMW with powder and chair shots. They also stole their ring jackets as they left. YES! YES! YES! Now if they would just give them some kind of flavor other than vanilla
Guest JacK Report post Posted June 17, 2004 The Natural's? Back? And with AMW JacKet's! Wow . . . seriously though that seems like something decent at least, the Natural's are a fairly decent tag team. See, months back I posted something about the coincidentalness of the AMW-Natural's match being on the Free Downloads . . . I thought something like this would happen. And there showing everyone a background to the feud as well. I'm impressed. They're working the freeview match's to assist there storylines.
