Another Incident in AS' fucked up life

Please tell me I'm not the only one this happens to.

 

As some of you know, I live on the south shore of Long Island. It's basically a beach town. In fact, fun here is usuall a result of one of the three b's, beach, bar or block parties. This makes it so that everyone basically knows everyone else around here, and in some cases are somehow related. Which really isn't a problem.

 

Except that there is this one guy who seems to know me that I have absolutel no clue who the hell he is or where I might have known him from. Hell, I don't even know his name. But he knows who I am and apparently where I live.

 

It all started a couple years ago, where I first saw the guy at some party or something (And right from then, he called me Matt) I was polite, but gradually moved on to mingle and whatnot. Since then, I've seen the guy about ten times a year during the Summer on the beach, and three or four other times a year. He's always very nice, but after a while it got kind of creepy.

 

Like the time I was at a friend of mine's block party and out of nowhere he showed up from somewhere down the block and gave me a beer and an inflatable party favor type thing.

 

Or at my block party two years ago, when I invited a couple of my friends into my house for a little while, only to find him there as well. (Just for the record, I do believe he is kind of a party hopper and just happened to be at both parties, not that he's following me.)

 

And then I ran into him again while at a pizza parlor with some old friends. Luckily, the meeting was brief enough that I didn't have to try and introduce him.

 

Like I said, the guy is really nice, so I'm not scared or anything, but do these strange things happen to anyone but me?

You're not alone man. I've had a few situations like this myself, but not as big. Have you asked any of your friends if they know him? Chances are, once you find out the guys name, it will come back to you where you know him from. High school, maybe?

Possibly, but the only reasons I kind of ruled out high school was that a) I went to high school out of town, and only two people from my town went with me. (Obviously, I'm not taking into account the possibility that he moved here later, which is a shot)

 

and b) We had a five year reunion type thing (and I'm actually coming up on the ten year one. fuck) and he wasn't there.

And I would probably agree with two of the three B's. I've rarely seen block parties in my part of Long Island (northern part of Bellport, but not in the TERRIBLE section), but that may just be the fact that there would be stupid shits from the aforementioned terrible part of my town fucking the party up.
