Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2004 Oh yes, I'm thankful to WWE for putting the Undertaker in the match instead of another Bradshaw one or Mark Jindrak as one earlier report had.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted June 21, 2004 Fuck yeah, I mark hard for this card, legit or not. Chris Benoit w/ Eugene in corner vs. Triple H - World Heavyweight Championship Whether or not Eugene would be better-suited actually wrestling, it continues to give him the rub in the corner of the Champion in what should be a great match. Undertaker w/ Paul Heyman vs. Eddie Guerrero -- WWE Title/Casket Match While the match probably won't be great or anything, Undertaker VS Eddy, let alone in a Casket Match will draw big and be fun at the same time. Heel 'Taker should be interesting. Shawn Micheals vs. Kane -- streetfight I like this kind of one-on-one match - two guys, talented in their own style. The hype has started early here, even if we haven't got a reason as yet. Rob Van Dam vs. Booker T -- U.S. Title Should be a fun one-on-one match. Even if the one-on-one has been done recently, a fresh feud will erase it from people's memories. Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton vs. Christian -- Intercontinental Title Chris Jericho in the IC title hunt makes me moist. Even if Randy Orton is involved, Jericho and Christian on the hunt aswell upon his return should make for a tremendous Triple-Threat. John Cena vs. Kurt Angle Yes! Presuming that this will be Kurt Angle's first match back, after the world of little scuffles, these two go one-on-one again, and I can only hope for at least the quality of their No Mercy 2003 match-up. Edge vs. Shelton Benjamin Edge got his title shot at Vengeance after all the poster hype, now he's in the midcard where he belongs. Him and Shelton one-on-one non-title should be interesting. Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero -- Cruiserweight Title No explanation needed - if they can deliver what they did at this year's No Way Out or better for such a show as this, what a match. Dudleys vs. Hardyz (assuming Jeff is cleared to return) -- Interpromotional Tag Team Match Jeff Hardy has always been one of my guilty pleasures. While he's not mat technician, he knows how to get the crowd going, as do both Hardyz as a team. Either Matt or Bubba and D'Von have to switch shows as it stands right now. While I don't expect a pure wrestling masterpiece, it should be fun stuff. Funny, I was just watching the Survivor Series '02 opener today. I nearly wet my pants for Michaels/Kane and Angle/Cena. Despite something seeming a bit strangem, it looks impressive.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 21, 2004 John Cena vs. Kurt Angle I liked their match from No Mercy, this time Kurt will be putting John over. Not if they want to run Angle/Guerrero
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2004 Last year it was a different story because Kurt was still somewhat healthy and John's an even bigger star now, he's getting the rub.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted June 21, 2004 John Cena vs. Kurt Angle I liked their match from No Mercy, this time Kurt will be putting John over. Not if they want to run Angle/Guerrero Survivor Series will be their only option, but that seems unlikely at the possibility of 5-on-5 action, getting pretty much every current guy working SmackDown! in on that while about 6 other Velocity wrestlers fill the void. I HATE the idea of a five on five. I was actually disgusted with what they did to their main eventers at Survivor Series last year. Survivor Series will be their only option If Angle puts Cena over, it won't be an option anymore. If they run Angle/cena, that match is a clear indicator of where they're going. SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2004 Hypothetically speaking, Cena's gimmick is so over that he could loose 6 PPVs in a row and still get huge pops. Um...that actually really happened, didn't it?

I can't see Cena losing again. Cena's way more popular now than he was almost a year ago, and this heel Kurt is the type that the fans are going to want to see get busted up, especially by someone like Cena. But the problem lies in that they would accept Cena using a chain or nuts or something (because a clean Cena victory would be horrible for Kurt), yet with this Kurt, that would incur a rematch, most likely will a horrible gimmick slapped on it. While probably doing the exact opposite to a younger, healthier competitor. My four reasons Angle should go over: -Cena's heat is pretty bullet-proof. -An Angle/Guerrero rematch makes more sense than an Eddie/Cena face vs. face feud, in my opinion. -Wasn't Cena vs. Eddie already done to death LAST summer? -Cena has years ahead of him to main event, while Angle's expiration date as an in-ring competitor is drawing near. Guest Choken One Report post Posted June 21, 2004 All right... How do you set this thing up? Clearly Booker wins the U.S Title at Bash...Does Angle play a part of this? should Cena do something so provocative that Angle forces himself to return? Does Cena play detective and discovers that Kurt wasn't severely injured as he claimed and has been medically cleared for some time...He takes this to the Board and the Board fires him as the General Manage and puts him BACK on the active roster and a new face is named the GM (likely Stephanie...which sucks) and Angle goes "fine, yeah I lied. So freaking what...Tell you what Cena...At summerslam...I'll come back and I'll beat your ass...and then you can tell the world you got beat by a near cripple!". Angle goes over...and then they burn it to Survivor Series for Eddy.Angle. Meanwhile Angle never works a match until Series.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2004 I'm just looking at the fact Angle's days are almost over and he would pass the torch so to say since Cena has never beaten him. You guys just want to see Eddie get a clean win over Kurt.
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Report post Posted June 21, 2004 If this came from the Observer, how come it was not included in the 6/21 WWE news thread? Some of these matches look very smarkish to me and inconsistant with current storylines. I am not so sure about the validity of this card at all.

But otherwise, that's a tremendous scenario that would make sense, as well as taking up a bit of time until SummerSlam so as not to be glossed over in two weeks, leaving over a month of cliches, burning the fans out before the match even rolls around. SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2004 Like it'd matter, but he'd be contradicting his "Intensity, Integrity, Intelligence" motto. The "3 I's" were never meant to be more than an ironic allusion to the character's blatant unethical behavior.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2004 If Eugene is announced as "being in Benoit's corner" against HHH at SummerSlam, then I think everyone can expect Eugene to turn on Benoit and help HHH win the title. I'd bet the house on it. Think about it...Eugene debuted AFTER TRIPLE H LOST THE BELT...he'll be "Nick Dinsmore", Triple H's good buddy and actor "from Hollywood" who *fooled us all* and helped Triple H get the belt back. Come on, they can't do this "Eugene Vs. ???" crap any longer. The Eugene gimmick ends at SSlam if this is true.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted June 21, 2004 While that could be an entertaining scenario, if Eugene helps Triple H win the title, it probably won't be intentional. But that'll continue to give him the rub. Besides, SummerSlam is too easy to turn Eugene - he needs to be milked and explore more as a face.
Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted June 21, 2004 Wait a sec. Isn't the whole Eugune story already played out? I heard the WWE copied it so if they actually did we already know the Eugune story. So, does anyone know how it plays out?
Dark Age 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2004 I'd say if Eugene turned he would reamin as he is now. It would just be Trips taking advantage of Eugene. They could do something where H convinces Eugene that Benoit doesn't like him, and that H is his only friend. Eugene turns on Benoit and becomes a stooge for H, but is still a face at the same time, because he doesn't know any better. Finally, at SSeries, he could realise (afer Regal tells him or something) that Trips has been using him, turns on him, and costs him the title to Benoit, or Jericho, or whoever. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 21, 2004 There would be no point in Angle winning this time. Exactly. So if they have any plans of running Angle/Guerrero again, they can't run Angle/Cena. If they do run Angle/Cena, that's shows that they decided against Kurt/Eddie at any time.

Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted June 21, 2004 Not for nothing but this last thursday Angle said in a report for the local channel 9 news in New York that he was going to have the neck fusion surgery and be out for a year or more. So what's keeping him? The longer he waits, the further away his return date gets. Of course, the word I've heard is that any neck surgery Angle gets in the future means no more wrestling, ever. So my guess is that Angle comes back in a month or two and tries to dodge the bullet every night. Eugene's already been covered by others. I knew that they'd overexpose the guy. What does it say when JBL isn't even pencilled in for a match? I'm not surprised over that either, as his entire character is being an Eddie foil. Take Eddie out of the equation and there's nothing.
