Guest Crazy Dan Report post Posted June 23, 2004 So my Giants just took over first last night. They are playing some real good baseball right now. Right now they have a rookie SS named Cruz, who is off to a roaring start. Now getting rid of Aurillia makes more and more sense. And right now the Giants have the best pitcher in the National league in Schmidt. Schmidt has not lost since he started 0-2. He has two 1 hitters to his record, with one comming against one of the best offenses in MLB. I believe that he has only given up three runs at the most during his win streak. A few more wins and he should be the starter in the All Star Game. So I am a happy dude right now. The West is not that tough this year, so they now have a good chance of winning it. And right now every player who struggled at the start of the season all have made vast improvements. Now the Giants need to get a #2 pitcher, and I will like their chances, at least better than their lowest point of being 8 games under.

Big McLargeHuge 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2004 Yeah, Cruz has been around and is nothing special. But he's looking like a real Dodger-killer out there, so if he has to start every game against the Bums, so be it. And Edgardo Alfonzo and A.J. Peirzynski are finally coming around. As are Michael Tucker and Kirk Reueter. Looks like the team is starting to gel. The real problem is that our starters (Schmidt excluded, natch) can't seem to go into the fifth inning without collapsing. They'll hang 0s up there through four and look brilliant, but after that, pure meltdown.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2004 What games are you folks planning to attend this summer? I just got tickets for the first part of a double header at "America's Most Beloved Ballpark" Fenway Park (According to the Fenway Park brochure). The game is between the Sox and the ubershitty Baltimore Orioles. Hopefully I get the good game of the double header. I didn't spend $27 plus service charges to see an infield consisting of Diamond Dave McCarty, Ceaser Crespo, Pokey Reese and Kevin Youkilis. I'm also heading down on September 15th to see the Red Sox play the Devil Rays again at Fenway. Man, I didn't think there might be playoff implications to this game when I bought the tickets in March. I also plan to head north to the Spaceship Dome (Or Olympic Stadium or Stade de Olympique as the Frenchies call it) to see a series between the Expos and Houston Astros in August. Roger Clemens damn well better start during this series. Certainly I don't want to see a series between the god awful Montreal Expos and the mediocre Houston Astros. So anybody planning to see any major league ball this summer? A question for alkeiper, do you think this year's Expos could go down as one of the 10 worst MLB teams? They're on pace to lose 108 games. Frank Robinson talked about how Carl Everett and Nick Johnson's returns would spark the offense, but it really hasn't. No one's hitting .300 or anything near it except for Nick Johnson who's only had limited playing time.
Bored 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2004 Rumored three-way deal in the works between the Royals, Astros, and A's. Carlos Beltran would go to the Astros, Octavio Dotel to the A's, and prospects to the Royals. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/news/mlb...s_mlb&fext=.jsp

If you give us all your games against the O's, we'll give you our Blue Jays games.
King Kamala 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2004 I'd take that deal. Actually the Orioles have been giving us troubles. I think we went 10-9 against them last year and so far this year I can say the Red Sox are that much above .500 against the Orioles.

Matsui or Wiggy >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Cairo Matsui, despite his total lack of anything good this year, I might give you. However, I don't understand this disease that runs through Mets fans that makes them think Ty Wigginton is a good baseball player. I just don't. I've heard Met fans liken him to-I shit you not, Pete Rose.
Bored 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2004 The three-way deal to send Beltran to the Astros and Dotel to the A's has been killed because A's owner Steve Schott refuses to add the payroll for Dotel even though just this past weekend his said he'd add payroll to improve the bullpen. Fucking asshole. http://www.foxsports.com/content/view?contentId=2512002

If you mean the last twenty-five years, then yes, because they have the story to go along with the losses. I would probably place them in the bottom half likely. They aren't as bad as the Tigers teams.

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2004 And while AS has a stroke, Im probably the happiest I've been in a month. A 13-2 drubbing of the Yankees will do that. And, Im hoping that whenever Mora comes back into the lineup that they find away to keep Newhan in the lineup. Somehow. The happiness however won't last more than 24 hours since Ponson has to pitch tomorrow.
