Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 25, 2004 So...They intentionally downgraded. at one position yes, but they picked up a couple damn good prospects Who will be damn good this year?
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted June 25, 2004 Royals are dead this season, so they're basically building for next year. Remember their future ace Runelyvs(sp?) Hernandez went down with Tommy John last year and isn't expected back until next season. Teahen or Tehen(third base prospect they got from Oakland) is suppose to be extremely good which allows KC to move Joe Randa if a team is willing to actually bite. With the amount of young talent the Royals now possess and the money they saved this year which can go towards a FA or two in the off-season. I really think the Central will be a dog fight between them and Cleveland next season. Both Chicago and Minnesota are losing far too many players to FA this upcoming off-season. sfaJack 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2004 Who in the FUCK are these announcers on the WGN broadcast of the Cubs/White Sox game? I'm assuming they're the regular White Sox crew, but dear sweet Moses they are horrible.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2004 I'll go on the record and say this trade makes the Royals better, right now. John Buck is better than Alberto Castillo or Kelly Stinnett. Mike Wood is an upgrade over Chris George. I think those acquisitions make up for Beltran.
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted June 25, 2004 evidently Frisbee Kim is only hitting 83MPH and hovering around 80 for the most part down wherever he's rehabbing. and Baltimore wants Ramiro Mendoza. I've no clue why
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 25, 2004 Royals are dead this season, I tend to think that, especially in a division where no one is ridiculously good, 11 games out at the end of June isn't "dead" We both know that teams have come back from a greater defecit later in the season. I just absolutely despise the "play for next year" mentality when you're in the middle of the season. Who in the FUCK are these announcers on the WGN broadcast of the Cubs/White Sox game? I'm assuming they're the regular White Sox crew, but dear sweet Moses they are horrible. Have they screamed here come the good guys when the Sox come up and/or started making fun of Cub pitching yet? Fuzzy Dunlop 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2004 Those announcers were pretty bad, but at least they weren't overly biased or knocking on The Cubs too much. The whole game they said we're one of the best teams they've faced this year, and they talked about how great Prior is.

NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2004 A's & Giants hookup for a 3-game series starting tonight in about an hour.....all 3 games are televised. So far since interleague play they have split their wins & losses right down the middle. Pretty cool for a bay area rivalry.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted June 25, 2004 the Sox announcers are ex-Sox front office guy and cornpone drunk Hawk Harrleson and ex-Sox scrub Darrin Jackson. They should be consumed for unintentional humor only.
sfaJack 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2004 Well, whoever the hell they are, they should be fired. When your idea of play-by-play is "Ball's hit.....split 'em, split 'em, split 'em....yes!....a double" you should never be allowed to broadcast a game again. sfaJack 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2004 oh he gets much worse, I assure you. Did you catch the beggining of the game, when he advised you to "cinch it up and strap it down"? No, I didn't get home from work until the top of the 5th. But that is pretty, uh, bad. Is that the word for it? Cubs broadcasting > White Sox broadcasting. Ron Santo is the Harry Caray for the new generation. I never get to hear Santo, but there's no way he could possibly be worse than those guys.

Ron Santo is the Harry Caray for the new generation. I never get to hear Santo, but there's no way he could possibly be worse than those guys. Ronnie is priceless. He's talking about Father's Day but then he goes and pronounces it wrong like he was torn between "Dad's" and "Father's" and went with the wrong A sound. He corrects himself awkwardly and goes on: "...I mean's FAH-ther's Day. It's interesting, the way Father's Day works. The thing is, you always hear about Mother's Day. Two months in advance and everyone's talking about Mother's Day! It's such a big thing. But then you get to June and it's Father's Day and nobody knows about it until it's--" Pat Hughes cuts in "Count is two and one" "--about it until it's too late! So I always try to drop some hints beforehand to make sure I get what I want, which is usually a tie or maybe--" "two and two, the count on Ramirez" "--a tie, or maybe a grill or stuff for the grill. The point I'm trying to make is this: both days are equally important for a family. I know my kids think so, which I apprec-" "that one goes to the right and it's an easy play to end the inning." "Which I appreciate, and now let's pause for station identification." The next rant was so indecipherable I'm not even going to try to transcribe it because I had no clue what the man was talking about.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 26, 2004 Roberto Hernandez coming in. Goody Goody Gumdrops! Now, al, I don't think it's fair to be frustrated with a member of the Phillies team. After all, they are a second place team. I, on the other hand, Can tell your useless sack of shit team to get a fucking move on already and not blow this entire weekend series (which, of course they will, because lets be honest, they're the Phillies)

Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 26, 2004 Manny clears the bases with a double. Joe Kerrigan is really doing his job, huh? You know, I went into this day with a positive outlook. I figured the Yankees would beat the Mets, and the Red Sox would lock themselves in the clubhouse or something and forfeit. (I didn't think the Phillies would win. Oh God no.) But, as usual, my life sucks.

KingPK 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2004 (edited) As if his night wasn't good enough, Manny lays out and makes a pretty little diving catch to end the inning.
