Hernandez went down with Tommy John last year and isn't expected back until next season. Teahen or Tehen(third base prospect they got from Oakland) is suppose to be extremely good which allows KC to move Joe Randa if a team is willing to actually bite. With the amount of young talent the Royals now possess and the money they saved this year which can go towards a FA or two in the off-season. I really think the Central will be a dog fight between them and Cleveland next season. Both Chicago and Minnesota are losing far too many players to FA this upcoming off-season.

EVIL~! alkeiper Posted June 25, 2004 Report Posted June 25, 2004 I'll go on the record and say this trade makes the Royals better, right now. John Buck is better than Alberto Castillo or Kelly Stinnett. Mike Wood is an upgrade over Chris George. I think those acquisitions make up for Beltran.

I just absolutely despise the "play for next year" mentality when you're in the middle of the season. Who in the FUCK are these announcers on the WGN broadcast of the Cubs/White Sox game? I'm assuming they're the regular White Sox crew, but dear sweet Moses they are horrible. Have they screamed here come the good guys when the Sox come up and/or started making fun of Cub pitching yet?

He's talking about Father's Day but then he goes and pronounces it wrong like he was torn between "Dad's" and "Father's" and went with the wrong A sound. He corrects himself awkwardly and goes on: "...I mean's FAH-ther's Day. It's interesting, the way Father's Day works. The thing is, you always hear about Mother's Day. Two months in advance and everyone's talking about Mother's Day! It's such a big thing. But then you get to June and it's Father's Day and nobody knows about it until it's--" Pat Hughes cuts in "Count is two and one" "--about it until it's too late!
