converge241 Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 due to poor ticket sales Farrell and organizers cancelled it
C Dubya 04 Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 Maybe he could have picked a slightly more relevant line-up. I liked most of the bands, but in all honesty, 1995 called and wants its music back.
justsoyouknow Posted June 24, 2004 Report Posted June 24, 2004 Well, the main issue is having Morrissey headline. The guy is great and all, but he doesn't have enough mainstream appeal to carry an entire two-day festival.
Mecha Mummy Posted June 24, 2004 Report Posted June 24, 2004 Maybe he could have picked a slightly more relevant line-up. I liked most of the bands, but in all honesty, 1995 called and wants its music back. But last year's "relevant" lineup was okay at best. I was really looking forward to this, goddamn it. Though I have to admit, the Polyphonic Spree kind of weirds me out so at least I won't be seeing them.
converge241 Posted June 24, 2004 Author Report Posted June 24, 2004 yeah they should have tried to play smaller places or something cause the masses werent hering the ads or seeing the lineup and saying "man i have to go" either that or tried to mix in some current hot bands even one day of more popular/commercial artists and one day of the lineup that they had there were rumors that pixies would play the local (Mass.) stop as well d'oh! at least curiosa (Cure, Thursday, Interpol, Rapture etc) is doing well cant wait for that
