NoCalMike Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 For those of you that usually go to the big blockbusters on Wednesdays....Do they typically jampack the theaters like Friday openings? I finished my final for my class on Monday, thus I don't have to attend class wednesday night and will be off work at 5pm, which means there will probably be 2-3 Spiderman 2 shows left on Wednesday night. I am wondering if I should buy tickets tonight, or if I should be safe just going tomorrow night and buying tickets then....
Mole Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 The last movie I saw on an Wednesday opening was Passion. The movie was pretty crowded, but wasn't sold out. It doesn't hurt to get tickets early though.
Guest Fook Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 Usually not, but for something as big as Spiderman 2 it probably will be quite packed.
NoCalMike Posted June 29, 2004 Author Report Posted June 29, 2004 well most likely I will be going to see it sometime between a 7:30 - 11:00pm......I should be ok
starvenger Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 well most likely I will be going to see it sometime between a 7:30 - 11:00pm......I should be ok Good luck, man. I've always found that Saturday noon matinees are the best time to watch a movie if you're not a fan of crowded theatres...
Guest SP-1 Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 I think it depends on the movie. Some movies opening on a Wednesday won't pack a theater out like they will on the weekend. But then there's something like STAR WARS or Spidey 2 which involves the Geek Community. Which will . . . well, we geeks tend to choose being half asleep at work on Thursday as long as we get to see the movie on Wednesday. We'll usually pack a place out on Wednesday regardless. In the instance of Spidey 2 . . . getting tickets early won't hurt.
Guest Choken One Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 Actually, I always found Sunday Afternoons...PERFECT for movie going. It's Quiet and cheap.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 I seem to remember going to the last two LOTR movies on a Wednesday/Thursday. Both places were filled up nicely, but they weren't "sellouts," although I did sit next to one idiot in ROTK who would talk out loud to his spazoid sun about what was going to happen next and get it wrong. He told his kid at the start of the movie that OMG SPOILER ALERT!!! The "real" Gollum would take the ring off of Smegal after he killed that other hobbit. Douche...
Guest El Satanico Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 well most likely I will be going to see it sometime between a 7:30 - 11:00pm......I should be ok Unless your town shuts down at 8 pm, it will be more crowded at that time.
