Vengeance Card

Anyone have a idea/feeling of what the rest of the card will be?

So far it's confirmed for these three

World Heavyweight Championship Match

Triple H Vs Chris Benoit

I.C Title Match

Edge Vs Randy Orton

Chris Jericho Vs Batistia

---------------

What else you believe or feel will be added to the PPV which occurs July 11th (why so early? shouldn't they do it on the 18th?

I expect also to follow

NO DQ/Non Sanctioned Match

Kane Vs Matt Hardy

a woman's title Match between Trish and Victoria or perhaps a Intergender match involving Tomko and Richards and saving the trish/vicky singles match for 'Slam.

The rest is uncertain though...

A World Tag Team Match with Le Resistance Vs two random faces (Tajiri/Rhyno perhaps?)

I'd imagine Eugene would find his way on here and I'd mark if while he is the the gm, he thinks flair is his buddy so much, he wants to wrestle him at the PPV and flair totally flips out and cuts a likely hilarious rant against him and Eugene, still clueless offically books the match.

Thats still like Six-seven Matches...

But then again I could easily see Benoit/HHH going long as would the other Evolution trio members matches.

I'm banking 40+ for the world title match, 25 minutes for Orton/Edge and 18 for Jericho/Pimpjesus.

I could see a Regal/Eugene match happening, but other than that i have no idea.

Hardy/Kane will most likely happen in some form, and La Res will defend against someone (please not Hurricane/Rosey!).

I think the inter-gender match is an interesting idea, but when was the last time Stevie Richards wrestled on PPV?

I always felt that a good way to fill up a PPV without having to bother with build-up is to make a 6 or 8-Man Tag with midcarders that can go 10-15 minutes, maybe as a bathroom/concession break match in between 2 major matches. For example, The Hurricane, Rosey, Tajiri, Rhyno vs. Garrison Cade, La Resistance (when they aren't tag champs), Stevie Richards or something like that.

I am going to hate Hardy vs. Kane if it happens. The only possible solutions to doing it are Kane destroying Matt, or Matt killing Kane a la Shane McMahon. a 15-20 minute back-and-forth match will not be pretty, considering Matt has been booked as Jobber for 3-4 months. Maybe if they actually built him up as anything, it would be fine, otherwise it's going to need a goofy finish.

As for the rest of the card, I wouldn't know what to put. The booking team can barely put 4 matches on RAW a week, so putting on a 8 match PPV is going to need a lot of filler.

Hardy/Kane - A Hardy win is too much to ask for, but the least they can do is put Hardy over in a losing effort. Make it no DQ or Falls Count Anywhere, give the Hardy win a strong tease, the fans will respect his fire.

Eugene/Regal - GREAT story to play out here. Regal, "the teacher," doesn't want to hurt Eugene and attempts to keep him grounded with mat wrestling while refusing to brawl. Eugene, blinded by anger, wants a roughneck fight. Regal loses because he's unwilling to turn it up a notch while Eugene shows ruthless agression.

La Resistance v. Hurricane/Rosey v. Tajiri/Rhyno - This seems like the only way to put any heat into the tag titles. There are no credible challengers so you might as well build up two contenders at once. They should have had Tajiri make a save on Monday to "officially" (ie: on RAW because nobody watches Heat) kick off his team with Rhyno, and it's not like the WWE will put any time into the tag title match, but best case scenario they could get some heat behind an elimination match with these three teams.

Trish/Tomko v. Victoria/Richards - This is what I see: a mixed tag where the title can change hands to the respective women on any pinfall, Richards (in drag) makes the fall on Tomko and claims the women's title for himself (because he thinks he's a woman). Typical WWE nonsense and this is the only logical way to play out this Richards crap.

Flair v. somebody - might as well put Flair on the card, can't hurt the buyrate or the live crowd. Start a mini program with somebody like Venis or better yet, somebody who IS Venis. Gives Venis a rub and well deserved PPV payoff and Flair a well deserved PPV victory.

Oh happy day... WWE burying and murdering yet another division.

Well at least the internet smarks would be happy with this one...

A World Tag Team Match with Le Resistance Vs two random faces (Tajiri/Rhyno perhaps?)

You know, I completely forgot Rhyno was on Raw. Huh.

I think Vengeance looks pretty OK, obviously better than Smackdowns stuff. Has potential for WWE show of the year, but it'll depend on what they do. For all the talk about Raw's "great booking", they are a 10 days from the PPV and have 3 matches announced.

Sadly, I'm also seeing Matt / Kane if Matt's leg / knee can heal in time. :(

For some stupid reason they have a theory of not announcing the matches when the other brand had a ppv before it because they stand to potentiall "change" the mind of the payer which doesn't go with their claim that raw and smackdown are watched by two different audiences...if they were two different audiences...why does it matter if the other show alredy booked their 2-5 matches and announced them before your ppv comes on...it shouldn't, in theory change the mind of the viewer...

...so that means like 2 weeks of actual hype...at least they aren't going to be completely random like GAB was with 3 matches being glorified Squashes (reigns over Haas, Kenzo over Gunn and Moredeaci over Holly), a "main event" built on the premise of someone dying...and that shitty excuse for a program for the two main titles and another rey.chavo match for the sake of a rey chavo match

at least Benoit/HHH has been built ahead of time, as has Edge/Orton and Jericho/Batistia...Kane/Hardy...

The other two-three matches will likely be announced off already running angles.

Vengeance already, with the three matches announced SMOKES GAB, Bad Blood, J.D...combined.

The thing with Eugene/Regal is that there will be some confusion as to who is face and who is heel. Regal is not a fully fledged face yet, but for Eugene to act in such a way will not have him be seen in a positive light. Though the fans may like him it will not be seen as being right for him to attack Regal so aggressively. I think a Eugene/Regal programme would be foolish.

The way the match plays out can determine who is heel and face, which is much more interesting than a 30 second interview or something to that effect.

you say that as if this is a new practice for the WWE...seems to me almost every PPV for the past 5 or 6 years has been shotgun booked...

Here's the difference: Any match they announce now will most likely make sense, unlike the past years of "these guys aren't doing anything and should therefore fight" mind process. The storylines are there; just because there isn't an "official" match doesn't mean the booking is lazy.

The difference is that at least on Raw you can see storylines that will likely result in PPV matches. On smackdown, we had no clue what Judgment Day or the Great American Bash would look like until the very last week.

"these guys aren't doing anything and should therefore fight" mind process.

I don't have a problem with that. They can have 4 good, solid matches that have been built up and 3 or 4 other matches that are just put together a week prior and it wouldn't bother me a bit...as long as the top 4 matches are good then I haven't wasted my money...WM 13 is an example of where the PPV completely sucked, but since I was able to capture Austin/Bret and UT/Sid (which honestly wasn't horrible for a big man match) on tape, i didn't waste my 35 bucks. All the other matches DID have good build up and they sucked (Rock/Rikishi-Sultan anyone?)...

I think Eugene and Triple H may have the tag titles by Vengeance. Think about it:

Triple H is playing Eugene for a fool, and turning all his friends against him, all while trying to maintain the illusion that he cares about Eugene

La Resistance were the first people to trash Eugene upon his arrival

Triple H could remind Eugene of that on RAW, and say that he should get them back for what they did in the past by booking himself and Eugene against them. That way, despite everyone trying to get Eugene away from Triple H, they really can't since they're bound by the tag titles. It's also a great way to get some gold on Eugene and portray him as "for real" while the character is hot.

They should have thought about that before Benoit and Edge jobbed the titles to La Resistance. Now LR is forced to job the titles to yet another "big name" team, even though it's likely they'll just get the belts right back after the Eugene/HHH thing has run its course.

It would've been better if it had gone Benoit/Edge -> Eugene/HHH -> La Rez

EDIT: Of course, La Rez would probably only win the tag belts back in that situation once HHH finally decides to desert Eugene once and for all and expose Eugene for the retard that he is.

I think it works better with La Rez because Triple H can continue posing as a good guy by taking on the hated heels that picked on Eugene. La Rez are simply expendable to Triple H, so by acting like Eugene's savior, it's not much of a stretch to have him taking on heels.
