Jim Ross: I was surprised to see Jeff wrestle for TNA, pleasantly surprised. He's pleased he's active and he'll be a welcome addition to TNA. As for where he goes long term, Jim has a lot of strong feelings towards Jeff. He is a good kid, very talented and maybe some day the WWE can do business with him again. The door is open but it is just a matter of Jeff taking the right journey. Jim wishes Jeff nothing but the best and he wishes the TNA guys nothing but the best because they are not the enemy by any means. More power to Jeff Hardy for working for TNA.

Could be. But given the direction WWE has been going lately I think it's just a case of WWE figuring TNA is so far benieth them Hardy won't do shit. They're probibly right there. The bigger problem (in my mind) is that WWE seems to see TNA as just another Indy. That could be bad. Fans could see "oh WWE doesn't care about them, they can't be THAT good." and then not order...

Back two years now, when TNA first got started, someone asked Vince what he thought about them; and he came out with something like "Well, good luck to them, it's an interesting concept they have, and I wish them the best of luck"

I'd be interested to know whether TNA watched WWE as much as WCW watched WWF during the monday night wars, as its been said many times that people would always watch RAW in the locker rooms at Nitro.

 

If TNA watches Vince religiously and figures out what markets he's leaving untapped, what angles are appealing and unappealing to the audiences, and what styles of work get over better, they can adapt better to the market that Vince has created for them, and perhaps one day usurp a portion of it. Maybe not next week, but a year or two down the line. It is a strategy that worked very well for a period in the MNW, as Bisch and the boys saw the niches left unfilled by the cartoonish WWF and filled them quite nicely with the edginess of the NWO, among other angles.

I'm confused. If anybody at TNA started claiming they were competing with WWE, everybody would laugh, since WWE could obviously crush a promotion of TNA's size. Yet when somebody at WWE suggests TNA aren't competition, people react as if this is surprising.

To say that they aren't competition at all is a tad bit condescending when TNA is moving up at such a rate. Most are just saying that the WWE's opinion will certainly change if, come the Fall, TNA has a primetime slot on FX.
