Guest Soylent Green Is People Posted July 3, 2004 Report Posted July 3, 2004 All guys that were expected to be in it aside from Joe, but with him no longer booked for JAPW it definately strengthens the tournament, somewhere from 2-4 Joe matches = goodness. Hopefully this time there won't be a string of late pulloutss and injuries like last year where Whitmer, Trent Acid, Truth Martini, Josh Prohibition, i think Tracy Smothers and maybe another guy or two all dropped out for various reasons in the leadup to the tournament.

As for Whitmer, i've always liked him better in IWA, compared to his ROH efforts, he's pretty good as the resident prick heel, plus being a former winner he brings a bit of credibility to the tournament IMO. Does anyone else think, that sometime in the tournament, we'll get Joe vs Hero? Or will they leave it out of the tournament and finish the feud at another show?

I know I'm biased but this is the first I've heard of anyone calling him crap. The guy can mat wrestle with anybody you want to put in there, go to the air and has an entertaining gimmick. Not trying to chnage your mind. I'm just curious.

The workers he is with carry him through his matches, he uses the same combos in every match which I might add aren't believable at all, and his gimmick got boring after a while. When I first saw him I thought he was a relitivly good wrestler. But as I saw more matches I realized he does use the same crap over again....

I don't know how far your viewing of IWA is, but Delirious has added more to the "run around and continuously hook your arm" spot, including about eight different types of cradles to go into. He also has added a bunch of different weird limb submissions to his reperotire (sp) lately. And, after the beginning of this year, I haven't had to see anyone once visibly carry him through anything, let alone entire matches. Heck, I think he's the glue that holds his series of matches with Matt Sydal together, and Sydal's not too shabby.

Even if you don't dig his work, you can't deny that he's one of the most energetic guys on the indies as a face. By the way, Corino 1000, could you please give me an example of Delirious "being carried"? I really am not seeing what you're seeing.

With all the great stuff in the IWA only Delirious made you a fan again? Delirious is watchable, not great, but definatly not pure crap. BJ Whitmer in the TPI is a must for IWA, because he is a regular, who is usually near the top of the card. Nate Webb better go in the first round, too.
