Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2004 I got a couple of manga samplers, something about "Marvel Age" Spiderman(WHAT is Marvel Age?), a reprint or something of the first Teen Titans issue, and a D&D thing
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2004 Marvel Age is there new all age imprint. Basically retellings of the classic stories, but totally kid friendly. I got hooked up at free comic day with the Teen Titans and the Donald Duck comics. I actually wound up hitting up all three of my local shops, not because I wanted more free crap, but because they all had sales and was looking to pick some stuff up. Guest SpiderFan Report post Posted July 4, 2004 My comic shop said I could take one of everything, so I did. I ended up with two Archie Comics (which I gave to my Mom) an Uncle $crooge/Mickey Mouse (also given to Mom) The Ballad of Sleeping Beauty (some Western thing) The Shield, Star Wars Clone Wars Adventures, The Crew, 30 Days of Night, Duel Masters, 24, Battle of the Planets, CSI, Teen Titans, something by Image (Squadron something? Has Spawn and Savage Dragon on the cover, along with two people I didn't recognize) and Marvel Age Spider-man. Marvel Age is where they take Stan Lee's scripts and retool the dialogue slightly so it's less corny (by todays standards) I'm not sure if they change the art, or just have an artist redraw the original stuff. The whole purpose of the thing is to get kids reading comics again.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2004 Yup, went looking to see if they had the Harley & Ivy #3(sold out but said they'd get re-stocked in 2 weeks...grrr). Picked up the 1st Teen Titans: Go issue(would've grabbed the Batman Adventures but being the idiot I am didn't realize you could take more then 1) and my father picked up an Archie and the Scrooge/Mickey one for my sister. Of course this didn't register with me(as in more then 1 free could be picked up) so meh.

Steviekick 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2004 My Comic Book store told me I had to buy 3 to get a free one Your comic book store sucks ass. The whole purpose of FCBD is to get people into stores and to be welcoming to current/future customers.
Boner Kawanger 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2004 I wanted to check it out, but a friend of mine took me out to lunch for my birthday. None of the free comics really interested me this year, though.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2004 Would've went, but I was a groomsman in my cousin's wedding, so no free comics for me. So, I'm going to Dallas for their Sci-Fi/comicon instead. Billy Dee Williams, baby!!
