Kizzo 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2004 I seriously do not get this favoritism thing.....back when Hogan was on Smackdown....and McMahon had that little feud with him....he was clearly spending more time on the Smackdown creative front...since he was the one responsible for that Mr. America storyline.....if he favors RAW more...why didn't he put this storyline on Smackdown instead of his creation...hell lets look at Smackown from 2002 to 2003...McMahon was spending more time on Smackdown than he was on RAW.....television wise.. They weren't just going to have Hogan "fired" and then show up on Raw, because Vince at that time wasn't on Raw...and Hogan would have went to Smackdown & Stephanie as "Mr. America" to get back on the show and mess with Vince some more. Also, and while this is just conjecture and hypothesis...it probably holds water... I see your point....I forgot about the ever so loved "Triple H EFFECT" going on..... Oh, and like WE can see how? It's stupid business-wise. There's no way you can spin it and make it look good. It's more than silly. It's sad...and that sucks, it also sucks...and that's sad. evilhomer 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2004 Didn't WWE flat out say that Smackdown was their "B Show" and that they would use it to try out outlandish storylines and gimmicks? Possibly. I've never heard them call it a b-show outright. The most I'd heard was that Pritchard wanted to bring in more gimmicky characters. Maybe I'm trying to be a little too logical here, but I can't see them intentionally trying to make the show bad if they expect to profit off the brand. It's not an attempt to make the show bad, it's throwing shit at the wall and if it doesn't stick they don't care as much. If the gimmick catches on, then great, milk it for a while before moving it to the big show, if not then at least they didn't hurt the important show with the crap. Of course they'd want everything to be golden and generate profits, but they don't care about the show enough to be cautious with what gets thrown out there. Promoter 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2004 Actually, I think the favouritism thing has to do with whatever show a Mcmahon is on. I think Vince favoured smackdown when he was "co-owner". Look, how the "brand" was stacked in the early days of the split. Vince wanted to look superior to Ric Flair as "co-owner" and it showed. Then it changed to Eric Bischoff and Stephanie Mcmahon. Smackdown was still better for the most part. All of last year smackdown was better for the most part with Stephanie Mcmahon as general manager. Stephanie Mcmahon loses her GM position and the show starts to slowly crumble although Heyman was a good GM. Vince all of a sudden disappears from the show. Benoit jumps, Lesnar leaves, Heyman quits, Booker downplays it as minor leagues, etc. etc. Now, the only show with a Mcmahon on it is Triple H and bingo he happens to be on the more entertaining show for the most part.
