Guest Choken One Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 I'd mark out if Bonds asked for those Home Run balls back. if they can find it that is.
Guest Anglesault Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Can someone explain what purpose that hill serves? It seems to be there specifically to tear up a knee.
Guest Anglesault Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Berman and Bonds on commentary? Thank God for mute.
Bruiser Chong Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 The hill was apparently supposed to be a homefield advantage, despite the Astros centerfielders not being able to adjust to it, either. As for this thing, I think Sosa or an underdog is gonna take it.
Guest Choken One Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Supposedly it's old school retro but i don't recall any ballpark having them. Junior would have gotten injured playing the hill anyways...at least he went ahead and did his injury thing so Beltran could get his rightful spot.
Guest Choken One Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Hank had this look on his face as if too say "I'd oughta show these punks"
KingPK Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 I think Fenway had one in the pre-Monster days. It was called "Duffy's Cliff" after a fielder who played it well.
Guest Choken One Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Berman and Bonds on commentary? Thank God for mute. well...He's just giving McCovey a bj.
Rob E Dangerously Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 The hill was inspired by the hill that was at Crosley Field
Guest Choken One Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 The hill was inspired by the hill that was at Crosley Field Huh. Interesting, I don't remember a hill being there but then again...I never went...ya know on account of me not being alive.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 The flagpole is inspired by the flagpole at Sportman's Park in St. Louis. I think Fenway had one in the pre-Monster days. It was called "Duffy's Cliff" after a fielder who played it well. It actually sloped downward, I believe. I'd have to double-check on that.
Guest Anglesault Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Berman and Bonds on commentary? Thank God for mute. well...He's just giving McCovey a bj. I didn't understand a God damn word he said. He's really excited or hopped up on something because he was talking a mile a minute. And you really should be able to pick and choose with "Retro" ideas. Random hill in center field is in the "bad" category
Guest Choken One Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 I'm CERTAIN sosa will have zero problems hitting those 1,000,000 targets.
Guest Choken One Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Berman and Bonds on commentary? Thank God for mute. well...He's just giving McCovey a bj. I didn't understand a God damn word he said. He's really excited or hopped up on something because he was talking a mile a minute. And you really should be able to pick and choose with "Retro" ideas. Random hill in center field is in the "bad" category at he isn't being an asshole... He spoke well of Willie and gave Mac his propers and was humble. But The Radio Shows won't tell you that...they will say he was spitting on Ted Williams Grave and wanted to shove Willie out of his wheelchair.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 So does anyone else not miss Griffey after Berkman's performance?
Guest Choken One Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Berkman is channeling Mac at Fenway here.
Brett Favre Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Bonds just tried to bury Berkman. He clearly said "That way, that's a joke".
LaParkaYourCar Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 I think Chris Berman is drunk. "Choo choo"
Guest Choken One Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 I want to chase the homers...I love the big kids pushing the little toddlers around.
LaParkaYourCar Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Wow she really asks the good questions doesn't she? "So how hard was it to choose to bat from the right side?"
Guest Choken One Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Im loving Drunk Berman. Its like Drunk Flair.
Guest Anglesault Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 I think Chris Berman is drunk. "Choo choo" Buck was smashed for a Yankee/Met game a couple weeks ago.
Guest Choken One Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Wow she really asks the good questions doesn't she? "So how hard was it to choose to bat from the right side?" U rather have Mr. "lemme holla at cha dog" Stuart Scott?
LaParkaYourCar Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Ouch Bush is just raggin on the Astros.
Guest Choken One Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 for a 80 year old guy...Bush still has his marbles.
LaParkaYourCar Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Ha that reaction to the spanish commentary was great. "oookay?"
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 We need Jim Gray in these kind of situations..... "Forget the All-Star game. What about the Carlisle Group?!"
