So lets say TNA somehow starts making money. I don't care how, it's the fact that they're making money that is the point of the question. I can guess some responses, but I want to know what you think. What shoud TNA do first whenever they start making money? What do you think would help them the most?

Okay......GO!

Just continue on until they have the financial means and fanbase to go head to head with the WWF.

Honestly, dump A LOT of the dead weight they have now (buy-out James, Konnan, etc. contracts), hire a good head booker (honestly, Kevin Sullivan would be a better choice than JJ), and simply spend TONS on scouting. Their BEST bet is to find "The next big thing" and not to hope that somebody the WWE discards is it.

Try to afford a better timeslot, since they have to pay Fox Sports Net?

Whoa there....... Kevin Sullivan?!?! The creator of the Dog and the Artist Formerly Known As. Let's not forget the utter shit that WCW was during his 3 months of terror in 2000.

1. sign the talented guys you haven't already signed, and get ready to sign more.

2. get rid of the guys who have no value to the shows.

3. get a new booker. someone with some actual original long-term ideas for the Wrestling Reinvented format.

4. sign some sort of talent sharing agreement with ROH, so TNA guys can work ROH, and TNA can get some of the best indy talents on their show.

If they started making money, then they'd be doing everything much better than they are now, so they shouldn't change a thing if that happens.

I say buy some AD times and put AD's on tv to promote impact and the PPV's. And then something else later on.

He's a better option than Jeff "Ah, what the hell, I'll keep the belt a little longer" Jarrett and Vince "Who the Hell Needs Logic?" Russo.

Sullivan actually had the occasional good idea.

Sadly, I can't think of any good Sullivan ideas that I remember back in WCW. If he becomes TNA's newest booker, then I'm thinking that instead of burying Benoit, he'll bury someone like Chris Sabin, Christopher Daniels, or AJ Styles.

Sullivan was the first guy to push Benoit to any degree. He also gave Benoit the World Title.

To say Sullivan did not have any good ideas is unfair. Sullivan was the main booker when Nitro began and helped bring about Nitros rise. I am sure you can list off tons of bad ideas he came up with, but he never gets credit for any of the good. With that said for whatever reason sullivan is hated by many, when he took over as booker the radicals left.

Benoit had won the U.S. Title twice, the Tag Titles and TV Title in the 8 months leading up to Sullivan getting the book. Also he only got the belt because Hart got hurt and we don't know what would've happened when Hogan and Flair came back. I think Benoit would've been left high and dry after that. Also let's not forget, I'm using your reasoning here, that Jarrett was all over the show and in the World Title feud most of the time Sullivan booked.

I think one of the things that they could do is develop a working relationship with other companies. Like ROH or NOAH. This would help bring in new talent and it could help to solidify their title as a WORLD title. Bring some legitamacy and importance back to the title and start to gather a WORLDWIDE fanbase instead of just looking busch league.

I was thinking you could improve television production and hire better writers. And maybe better announcers.

I agree with this as well. Bring in some Japanese or Mexican workers to establish that the title is truly a WORLD title. You could even have clips of the champ defending the title in Mexico and Japan on the show to emphasize it.

(Note: I'm a huge mark for the Tanaka vs. Awesome feud in ECW, so this would be great. Not to mention that most marks never saw that feud.)

And I would love to be able to see them. The only Japanese wrestling I've seen is the old FMW DVD's they sold at FYE. I would love to see something else.

Try to get ahold of Goodhelmet. Tell him I sent you. He'll hook you up. I got a 6-hour comp. tape off of him (pretty much nothing but AJPW) and he only charged me $10. Tons of phenominal matches on that bad boy too. A few Kawada/Misawa matches, some fantastic tag team matches (like Misawa/Kobashi Vs. Kawada/Taue) and other great gems.

It's basically nothing but Misawa, Kobashi, Akiyama, Kawada & Taue (in a couple tag matches).

He also went out of his way to be one cool cat. Sent me his master tape that had one of the Misawa matches on it so that I could compare video quality. Sent me a free best of Tag Team tournaments tape. Stuff like that.

I also bought a 6-hour Ring of Honor tape off of him for $10.

Okay, say they go through with bringing in the Japanese workers. Should it be an invasion or not? And, who would you want to see fight who?

I'd like to see Tiger Mask IV mix it up with several of the X-Division dudes like Styles & Daniels. A returning Low Ki too.

You know honestly if they had money they should get RVD (since he can work X-Division style, sort of) and they should take Brock Lesner because all other US free agents either can't work (Austin), have huge political problems (Nash and Hogan) or just suck (Goldberg) while Lesner is still very young and still has a huge part of in WWE plan.

Also they should work on getting a better t.v time securing talent (none of this "I'm going to Japan and potentialy injure myslef) and increasing there production values.

Production values are more important than having midcard talent tour Japan. Plus, why keep talent from making more money unless you're going to compensate them? TNA lucked out by offering the shared talent they had with RoH (Daniels, Styles, Red, etc.) by compensating the losses in pay for booked dates, but I doubt the crop that does tour Japan (Ki, Daniels, D'Lo, Red, a few others) would stand for taking MORE of their money away from them.

If TNA starts making a profit? The first thing they should do is pay off their company debts in installments to Panda. If they don't have a debt because TNA is considered just another part of the company? Then focus on paying the workers more (NOT Jarrett, since he already gets twice the pay of anybody else on the roster, at the least) and increasing production values. Maybe hire some better people for the entrance music branch, since a whole chunk of their themes absolutely suck.* Also, hire some new video guys, because the videos TNA use are often laden with cheap titles and special effects that just SCREAM "bush-league" to me.

The only good themes are Styles', New Church's, Michael Shane's, and Jeff Jarrett's. 3LK's was okay, but Truth's production music from when he first joined TNA was eons better, which shouldn't be the case. The undercard is littered with songs that are rip-off's of popular songs, or just plain terrible tunes.

EDIT: As for Japanese workers they should bring in? Hands-down, Marufuji and KENTA. I've seen three matches, all from mid '03, involving Marufuji, two of which he tagged with KENTA, and they were all great. I hear nothing but good things about these two lately, either. They're making a name for themselves amongst puro fans in the States, and I can definitely bet that bringing some more recognized Japanese names into TNA would get some more people watching.

Good call on KENTA & Marafuji being brought in. They would be amazing to say the least(on a side note Laz, check out the 4/25/04 match between KENTA/Marafuji vs. Misawa/Ogawa...it's excellent), and there are plenty of other guys that they could bring in as well. I always personally thought that since the Hogan thing didn't work out that maybe they could have worked out something to bring in Chono(considered that he was basically ignored when he was there for the Hogan/Jarrett angle), that might have brought some attention to TNA from a Japanese perspective.

I'll pretty much guarantee that they can't get Lesnar. WWE signed him to a 7 year deal. If he wanted to return to the biz, only one company has the rights to him.
