Who should beat Benoit for the title?

I know that the Internet's favorite wrestler is Benoit. But you guys gotta get prepared for when Benoit loses the title.

 

I think it's almost time for his reign to come to a end. If it's at RAW, Summerslam, Unforgiven or Survivor Series, he has to lose it before the end of the year for sure.

 

The candidates to became new champion are as follows.

 

HHH

 

If he doesn't win at RAW, I think it's safe to say he wont win the title off Benoit in the future. There are already people stating that HHH and Benoit will not face each other at Summerslam. Plus their fued is getting old and has been running since after the Royal Rumble.

 

Edge

 

The current IC champion looks to be a world champion soon. The WWE decided he was the right person to end Randy's reign at champion. Although I would have liked Shelton Benjamin to, I don't mind Edge doing it. He can cut a very good promo, does have charisma, and is pretty over. And he is a very good wrestler. So I wouldn't mind him. Plus it's somthing new.

He is the one I want to win it. Because I think his character is at the peak right now. Mick Foley fued made this guy, and now he looks to be a world champion material. I say give the belt to him. I think it could work.(Although I strongley dissagree with people comparing him to Rock of 1998. Rock wass on a another level)

We all know that Triple H will probably be the one to beat Benoit, but wishful thinking wouldn't hurt.

I'd say have him job at next year's Mania to Edge or Jericho. Triple H winning the title back is just stupid, Orton is not ready for the title, Batista isn't good enough, Kane is dead, Eugene is a joke, and that's about it. Maybe a heel Shawn to transition to Jericho would be nice.

 

Really though, I see no reason to end the reign at all. It's not bombing, it's not harming anyone or anything, let Benoit run with the belt until he runs out of steam. If he suddenly loses the interest of the crowd, he drops the belt. If he starts dogging it (yeah right), he drops the belt. If someone more over and just better equiped for the title comes along, he drops the belt. At the moment, there is no one better to run with the title than Benoit.

Come on. Think about it. What happens to every enemy of Evolution? Batista beats them up. They can beat Flair, they can beat Orton, they may even beat HHH... but Batista flattens them. He does ALL the dirty work, so theoretically in kayfabe he should be able to beat anyone Triple H can beat.

 

Yeah yeah I know. But it continually annoys me that he hasn't held a singles title but is seen as this unstoppable monster. Either give the guy a title or don't push him as indestructible.

Actually, Batista has often been Evolution's jobber so that Flair's legacy and Orton's push can be spared.

 

All the OVW callups have suffered from so many of the same problems, that I think Benoit should just become the new Sammartino while WWE changes training camps and breeds another generation of wrestlers that'll hopefully be better than the last class of graduates.

Keep Benoit champion for shock value. The only way I want Benoit to lose is if it is one of those unification matches on Wrestlermania. At the moment nobody on Raw deserves to win the title.

Orton. If they are doing Orton/HHH, there is no way Orton will be cheered in that feud, face or not. Since the face has to be the one to get kicked out of Evolution (to actually get them to turn face) and chasing the title, that means Orton is the one that has to be champ. I know people don't like the idea of HHH challenging Orton, but it would be a disaster if the roles were reversed. I would actually quite enjoy it if it was Shelton that got the big face run against Orton, but that won't happen and Orton would still have to get the belt next in that scenario anyways.

 

Edge simply isn't World Title material right now, and Kane & Jericho are non-threats. Shawn Michaels has been a joke since his return from injury, and HHH gets cheered over him as it is. HHH winning the belt is just the show spinning its wheels again. A face winning the belt is stupid since Benoit is the most sympathetic character on the show besides Eugene, and I'm not even going to consider giving him the belt.

Uh, what about Bradshaw. I think he fills the quotient of "shocking" shitty champions that aren't anywhere near over enough to hold the belt.

 

As for what should happen with the title, I think at this point, they should just let HHH win the belt on Raw Monday. There are no heels outside of Evolution that have any credibility right now, and if HHH loses to Benoit for the fourth time in a row in a major match, his credibility will be pretty much done too.

HHH will never lose credibilty. The guy, during his PRIME run in 2000, was selling for curtain jerking jobbers TAKA Michinoku & The Brooklyn Brawler. Losing to Chris Benoit doesn't make him heatless, it just means Benoit is better than HHH, which is what they are going with.
