Brosnan Done With Bond

Recommended Posts

Absolutely. Let Bond be Bond, and let the movies be actual spy movies, not films full of gadgets and explosions. The Bond franchise has always had its tongue planted in its cheek, but a lot of the early movies were very good espionage films. We haven't gotten one of those in a while.

Fuck this...

Goddamn I was hoping the series would take a more serious tone for the next one... now it looks as if they're only doing this to appeal to fucking teenage girls and the rest of bubblegum chewing pop culture zombies that have attentions spans comparable to fleas

Fuck Eric Bana, and fuck EON

Where the hell did this reaction come from?

Unless I missed the memo, Eric Bana is not some sort of teen idol. If the Bond producers had only been concerned about appealing to teenage girls, they really WOULD have hired Ashton Kutcher. Or someone like Heath Ledger.

Bana's a good actor, who's pretty much been taking serious roles ever since "Chopper", and I think he'll probably do well in the role.

I think Brosnan saved Die Another Die. Halle Berry almost destroyed it with her horrific acting and even worse character dialogue (admittedly, she didn't write the script).

I do believe that Brosnan was a pretty damn good Bond. It wasn't his fault he got stuck with inferior scripts.

I'm just going by rumors that have been flying about for a while, that Brosnan has been wanting to do a more serious, story driven Bond flick (hence his interest in working with Tarrantino) and the words in the article that stated that they want to appeal to the Matrix and Spiderman crowd

If this Bana thing is true, this is going to suck. I've seen the dude in The Hulk and also in Troy, and he is the blandest, most boring actor around today. Seriously, Bond should have all sorts of charisma, yet they hired a guy with less charisma than friggin Timothy Dalton.

I'm sure Zsasz will back me up, but no one gave off a better sense of single-minded drive to completing a mission like Dalton did. Which is what Bond should be about. The mission comes first, then the women and casinos.

Bana will be a good SERIOUS Bond if, like everyone has already pointed out, the writers get their heads out of their collective bungholes.

BWAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA

Bana oozes charisma.

See: Chopper, The Castle, The Nugget, Any episode of Full Frontal.

The guy was originally a GREAT STAND UP COMEDIAN, and you guys think he can't do tongue in cheek stuff?

I agree as well that Dalton was the man... his version was the closest representation of what the character of bond was designed to be
