Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted July 29, 2004 A guy expressing his loss for someone who was like a brother is one thing, but if you've cried over a goddamn wrestling match...shit. Clearly we who find this foolish are CAVEMEN. Way to overcompensate. Fucks sakes. Grow a pair.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Come Monday you go on a strict regime to inject a larger sense of masculinity in you. ... at first reading, it sounded like you were going to start giving him anal. And that takes it way too far. Real men take it up the ass ...right?
Guest Nelly's Bandaid Report post Posted July 29, 2004 "Clearly we who find this foolish are CAVEMEN. Way to overcompensate. Fucks sakes. Grow a pair." What's the reason why he shouldn't? "It's not manly". If you guys are so dellusioned into thinking emotionally indentifying with art is 'not manly', then your most likely cavemen, or at least as dumb. Guest croweater Report post Posted July 29, 2004 The last time I cried was when Anya died in the last episode of Buffy. ... ... ... ... But that's ok, cos she was really hot...... right?
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Anybody with an ounce of self-esteem doens't give a fuck what people think and doesn't have any problems displaying their emotions. I loathe dudes who get too caught in up macho bullshit. Stop caring so much about what other people think of you. It's foolish to think that people that don't cry are "caught up in macho bullshit" or anything like that. I barely cried when my grandparents died, and when my friends that passed away died, even behind closed doors. I just didn't feel the need or urge to cry. If things that are actually traumatic don't make me cry, why would I cry over a movie or a stranger showing emotion? Not crying =/= macho bullshit. Some people cry, some people don't ... neither is right and neither is wrong.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 ...I don't care what you say, wrestling isn't "art" and crying over it is the biggest glob of bullshit I've ever heard. You need to go to therapy or put on a fucking skirt.
Guest Dids Report post Posted July 29, 2004 I'm not saying that "not crying" is macho bullshit. I didn't cry when either of my grandparents died. I'm saying that making fun of people for crying is macho bullshit.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 It's really not. This isn't an issue of masculinity, it's an issue of oversensitivity.
Boner Kawanger 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 No, but I can't wait for the cries of outrage when Benoit drops the belt to Orton.. And I couldn't wait for the first troll to invade the thread. lol2005 from the future

Clearly we who find this foolish are CAVEMEN. Way to overcompensate. Fucks sakes. Grow a pair. If you'd actually taken the time to properly read the thread you'd see that I never cried over a wrestling match. I cried at the circumstances surrounding the death of two fellow Canadians whom I hold in high regard and how it effects a man whom I've been a fan of for a long time. Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 I'm not going to admit what I will be doing when I get a hold of that Benoit DVD. Curry is quite correct to. I don't think anyone should worry about other people crying over shit unless for example, they cry out of joy for meeting someone new out in public or something equally demented and uncomfortable. Crying at a terribly inoportune time out in public and embarassing everyone around is kinda gheyish, doing it in your own home by yourself over gheyish shit...eh, who gives a toss. And I found this funny: "This isn't an issue of masculinity," "or put on a fucking skirt." Either your an idiot or you just want to see more manskirts, both make the same point. Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Anybody who says that wrestling isn't art has no concept of what art is, period. And yes, it is an art form for those in the mood for a good argument/debate/potential flame war.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Either your an idiot Thanks for playing! And re: wrestling=art comment... Is this some sort of "modern art" argument, where you can see beauty in strange places or something? Because for Chrissakes, if you consider ridiculously basic "It's my life's dream!!" or "I'M AN UNDERDOG" storylines to be art, that's pathetic. The WWE and wrestling in general is no more art than pornography. It's entertainment---specifically, sports entertainment---and nothing more. Leave it at that. Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted July 29, 2004 I love how people will say crying about wrestling is gay...yet crying over sports is alright. Considering that you would cry over athletes that generally if they ever met you .....would hate you is pathetic. I understand if something may strike a nerve with you........but still. I think it's fine to cry.....but these reasons given here.......I just can't justify...... your all fucking pussies anyway.........oh, and....................... fag
Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 I wouldn't cry over sports either, nor would I consider sports "art". A notable exception would be if you're actually competing.

But hey, keep them uninformed opinions coming. Well, HEY Chuckie, if you'd taken the time to read over my post, you'd note that I did indeed notice what you cried over. Benoit getting emotional when talking about Owen Hart, am I right? I intended the rest of that line for those that bawl over someone losing or winning a match. For what it's worth, I find the same to be true about those who cry over actual sporting events, unless they're participating, or the parents of a player. Look at it like this.. Chris Benoit finally wins the title, and he cries in the ring. Of course, it's a career highlight. His mom and pop go through a few tissues with him, that's fine. But Marty Davenport in section CC Row 36 having a breakdown over the same situation..fuuuck off. I'll debate wrestling as high art. If anything, I'd equate it to the level of the circus. Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 If I saw somebody crying over wrestling in public this debate would be a whole different matter. That's shit that you just don't do, especially at an event like a wrestling show.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted July 29, 2004 If interpretive dance is considered an art form, I don't see any reason why Pro Wrestling, especially the Lucha Libre form which owes so much to theater, isn't.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Who considers interpretive dance an art form?
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Short form: Pro wrestling is an art form because it's people using their body language, facial expressions etc. to tell a story and get a point across to an audience. Anybody who's worked in theatre or in musicals would probably consider interpretive dance to be an art form.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Oh Christ. So anything involving acting is art now? I guess when you set your standards that low...
Guest Nelly's Bandaid Report post Posted July 29, 2004 THERE ARE NO STANDARDS TO ART YOU FUCKING MORON. Art is art by definition, not by quality. But of course since I don't spell your differently when I use it, a points not a point and magically your not an idiot anymore. Do you share your pixiedust?
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted July 29, 2004 Your too fucking lazy to spell properly or learn simple steps of organizing what you write, which indeed makes your opinions worth a lot less. A typo's a typo, but when you admittedly don't even try to convey your thoughts in a manner that's worth a flying fuck, you remain a retard. Pro wrestling is entirely body language and athleticism, which are two things clowns and acrobats have in spades. It's also got its fair share of freaks, geeks, elephants, and a mastermind behind the scenes. The reason the circus parallel is brought up so much is it's so correct. Is Ringling Brothers fine art as well? I look at it as entertainment.
Guest Dids Report post Posted July 29, 2004 I'd argue that a circus is art. I have a very liberal definition of art. If you take a shit in a plate and tell me it's art- then I'd agree it's art. Stupid, lousy, pointless art, but if you honestly believe that you're presenting your shit on a plate as art- I'll grant you that license.
