cynicalprofit 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2004 So this thought occurs to me at work today... Have Angle go face eventually, then have him get beat down by a heel tag team, really doesn't matter who. Have him and a mystery partner for a tag match, non-title, at some ppv. Have Bret come out as the mystery partner. Match will be Angle, bumping around after a hot start, but eventually falling to heel cheating. He'll make a false tag to Bret and get beat some more. Eventually he turns it around, Bret does a quick clean house and then a sharpshooter, which Angle helps secure the victory by holding the other heel back. The heel taps out and Bret looks fine. Bret needn't bump ONCE in the match. Its not gonna be a 5 star classic, but hey, hey'd be able to do it. In theory. Thoughts?
Downhome 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2004 I've always figured that the ONLY way that Bret would ever be in another match, would be if he could work all the way through it. I just don't see him going through with something like this. I'd be all for it, but I doubt Bret would do so.
Enigma 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2004 I really doubt Bret would come back for a non-match. And if you advertise a Bret Hart vs. Kurt Angle match, it better be a 5-Star classic or else people are going to be disappointed. This would disappoint me. cbacon 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2004 I don't see how hard it is to understand that Bret won't be returning in any storyline or in-ring manner.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2004 Make it an Ironman match so the 2 of them can stall, punch, kick for 25 minutes before the hot finish.
Guest TigerDriver91 Report post Posted August 4, 2004 Bret Hart will never wrestle another match again in his life. End of story.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2004 They could always bring him back as a manager/mentor for Team Canada. Bret Hart as the manager Benoit the champ Jericho the tag specialist Val Venis tag specialist Regal the gentleman vs Evolution
DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2004 They could always bring him back as a manager/mentor for Team Canada. Bret Hart as the manager Benoit the champ Jericho the tag specialist Val Venis tag specialist Regal the gentleman vs Evolution because Regal is Canadian amirite? Jericho and Venis should pair up to be the New Thrillseekers though. They both fit (especially Val, as a replacement for Lance Storm).
razazteca 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2004 Regal is British and Canada is part of the Commonwealth so therefore he can be included in the group. Kind of like Pillman joining the Hart Foundation. They have common enemies so why not make a stable to prevent run in beatdowns?
Guest Staravenger Report post Posted August 4, 2004 BRET HART CANNOT WRESTLE PERIOD. Have him come in and do a REAL farewell speech, and thus end the Montreal saga.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2004 Can they bring him back as an announcer? Todd Grishom needs to be banished to Saturday mournings only.
Guest Staravenger Report post Posted August 4, 2004 Can they bring him back as an announcer? Todd Grishom needs to be banished to Saturday mournings only. He also proved how stupid he was by pronouncing Jushin Ligers name wrong, and needed Benoit to correct him. Tsk Tsk Tsk...
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2004 Bret isn't quick enough to do the announcer role well. On OTR or some of the WOL interviews, he always took a lot of pauses and one of the rules in announcing for the WWE is limited-to-no dead-air. That he is even to speak clearly and form his thoughts coherently is good enough for me.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2004 Ignoring the fact that Hart has a few years worth of ring-rust to shake off. And the fact that he got his clock cleaned by Goldberg's kick in the head. The man had a stroke. He's not going to wrestle again. And I don't see why anyone would want him to come out and basically do NOTHING in a tag match.
