It was a chance to change it up, so for you haven't changed ALOT just bits and pieces. You took what happened @ WM13 with Bret and Austin and slapped it onto a IYH. Whereas you could have dramatically altered the story there. I'm pretty much only changing things that I didn't like and doing the pay-per-views the way that I would've like to have seen. I decided to have the Bret-Austin match at IYH because I was trying to make them seem more important. As we get closer to the "Attitude Era" things will change a lot more. Guest Sturm316 Report post Posted July 5, 2005 I have to hand it to you guys, you're done a tremendous job so far. So muchso, that you've inspired me to do my own fantasy booking from 1986-1992. It's not as easy as it may appear, especially during some of those timeframes where the roster was limited on main event/mid-card talent (ie Survivor Series 1988, post-Wrestlemania 8). I've also gained a better appreciation for what was actually booked during those year. For instance, following Dynamite Kid's back injury, it was more appropriate for the Bulldogs to be booked in six-man tag matches. I also feel Andre could have been MUCH better used as sort of an outside the ring enforcer for Ted DiBiase during 1988/1989 instead of pushed as a single. Virgil still could have been the bodyguard, but Andre could have added some extra muscle and be used sparingly as a tag team wrestler. In that match, the Road Warriors were surprise mystery opponents challenging for the WWF tag team titles. That match ended in a disqualification victory for the Warriors. They earned the #1 contender shot by beating The Headbangers, The Godwinns & The New Blackjacks in a 4-way elimination match on Raw is War 2 weeks before this PPV.) - WWF Intercontinental Champion Goldust pinned Marc Mero (7:39) after a bulldog from the top rope. ** ¾ -Bret Hart pinned Psycho Sid (13:28) with a rollup from behind while Sid was distracted by Brian Pillman, Owen Hart & Davey Boy Smith. ** ½ After the match, while The Hart Foundation was celebrating in the ring, Steve Austin came through the crowd and attacked them. Sid came out to the ring and chased the Hitman away. The next week on Raw, Bret formed the Hart Foundation, along with Owen Hart & Davey Boy Smith. That same evening they attacked Sid. It was announced the following weekend that Bret & Sid would square off here.) - The Nation of Domination defeated Ahmed Johnson (15:29) in a “Gauntlet” match. ** In this match, Ahmed pinned Crush. He then went on to pin Savio Vega. But, in the end, Ron Simmons was able to get the victory over Johnson. A 4 1/2 star Owen-Bulldog match to open...Austin-Pillman one on one (Im surprised this didnt break ***)...another classic with Bret-HBK, and the street fight (the second best match at the real Mania) made for a really stellar undercard. Vader vs Taker was the main event that shouldve been booked at the time, the top rope chokeslam would have been pretty hot, and *** stars is no stretch for those two at the time. You turned a terrible show with one classic and one good street fight into a legit classic. Two ****+ matches and three more around *** with a far better main event. Kudos. Make the 'invasion' actually matter. This is also probably a good time to start posting Raw results as you are right into the the Monday Night War era now. Owen Pinning Steve will hopefully lead to their feud. The tag division sure sucked back then - glad your just keeping it on Road Warriors and not hot shotting it around to Godwins and Headbangers - Bring on the Outlaws!!!! :-) Do you still have plans for Rocky to join the Nation?? He dropped the WWE title to a guy he was never able to beat, he couldn't beat Steve Austin in their rematch, lost the rematch to Vader, couldn't win a four way dance, tapped out to Bret Hart and had his leg broken. It's not like he's doing that bad, it's just that had he actually been booked in this manner in 1996-1997, he would have had a massive temper tantrum and possibly have quit or murdered Vince McMahon. Also you can get a sense of wrestlers getting pushes and and rising to PPV's and also a feeling of who else was about around this time but who didn't quite make the grade to PPV's. Guest jm29195 Report post Posted July 18, 2005 Tell me, are Furnas and La Fonn going to be kept around for longer than late 97, I feel they had a ton more to offer than they were allowed to give and it was only because of unfortunate timing, and a car crash that they never achieved more than they did, I remember there was a rumour going around that they were going to be repackaged under Jim Cornette and brought back in ealy 98 to win the Battle Royal at WM 14 and feud with LOD, but this was nixed and that horrible NWA angle took place instead- is anytnig different going to take place here, I'm a big mark for the new (old) can-am connection.....
