Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2004 In about four hours, Hurricane Charley (just downgraded to a Category 3!) will be striking my town. I am drinking a fancy Thai malt liquor, called Singha, surfing the web.
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2004 I do not expect many replies to this thread, as it is a Friday and somehow, improbably, most of you have lives. However, since I will very likely be dead within 12 hours, this thread will serve as my epitaph.
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2004 I'm here for you, dude. At least for another 15 minutes or so before I go play X-Box. Did you ever find anybody to grab weed off of?
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2004 No, but I'm getting drunk, instead. Here are photos taken from http://www.weather.com (saved to my photobucket account, so this thread will be preserved for future generations, or the Classic Archives): Punta Gorda, Fl. Guest Nanks Report post Posted August 13, 2004 That doesn't look so bad, it doesn't even seem to be raining in that photo. So what's the progress report, you seem to still be in the thread so I guess it's not so bad if you've still got a connection. EDIT: Simultaneous posting made that confused. I was referring to the guy with the yellow garbage bag or whatever blowing behind him. The other two photos don't look quite as encouraging. So how far away's the storm from where you are?? Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2004 Somehow I don't think death via hurricane whilst on TSM was the way you wanted to go, Inc. At least the inebriation should soothe things for you.
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2004 It is my sincerest wish that, somehow, if my final post were to be cut off by a tree crashing through my roof and killing me, that my last, incomplete words will be transmitted to TSM readers.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2004 Have you made out a will, and if so, do any TSMers stand to inherit any of your belongings?
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2004 The biggest tragedy is that you may never get to hear and love my band so much that you'll switch teams and complete the Metal Hydra beast of TSM
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2004 So how far away's the storm from where you are?? About four hours away. It'll cross nothing but land in the interim, so the storm itself will weaken, but still, it's gonna rain and wind will blow. A lot.
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2004 Have you made out a will, and if so, do any TSMers stand to inherit any of your belongings? I've gathered up all my cherished belongings. They are forming a circle around me and my computer. So, if I die, all my shit's going with me. I'm determined to prove wrong the jackass who said "you can't take it with you." Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2004 Charley is officially a wuss. He straight-wrecked Port Charlotte, but basically peed gently on the rest of the West Coast for two hours. The sun is shining now, and it's really quite lovely out. He's saving all his hate for you.
Giuseppe Zangara 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2004 If I had a digital camera, I'd take pictures of my imminent death, but alas... I imagine it'll look something like this, however:
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2004 Have sex while the eye wall is passing overhead, and bask in the afterglow while things calm down in the eye. In Charleston, people are panicking as if it really is the end of the world, it's pathetic. I plan on going out to the beach and screaming "GIMME YOUR BEST SHOT, NATURE!" ... I shall bring a laptop with me so you can all see my final typed words.

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted August 14, 2004 I find it rather humorous that the entire state of Florida minus where I live got struck by two hurricanes, albeit in some areas not by both. The worst I got here in Miami was a little wind and a few thunderstorms over the past week. Nothing out of the ordinary at all. This was in Cuba, but they're not Americans, so who cares.
