Is it really worth hurting people over?

Recommended Posts

Hey Mike, maybe these people advocate killing Bush because they feel his direct order to begin Iraqi Freedom directly lead to the deaths of hundreds of Americans and thousands and thousands of Iraqis.

No Bush, no Iraqi war, most of those people would probably be alive today.

To a lot of people, it can be that simple.

Then those idiots should be neutered so they don't reproduce moronic spawn.

Easy, the left = Hitler in Mike's view. But, he mentioned Hitler, so let's close up the thread. Godwin's Law and all.

Door's right behind you.

You won't be missed.

That would mean these people care about something other than their own self interests.

I still laugh at a lady selling a pin that said:

I DIDN'T MOURN FOR REAGAN

Now Bob, if I can live through serving someone popcorn who has a FREE MUMIA button on, you can last through this.

And I also heard that cunt on Hannity's show -- I hope those cop dogs maul the shit out of some of these pseudo-hippie protestors in NYC. And of course I'm sure Big Media will be all up on it.

Oh, and for those in the Pittsburgh area, I heard a commercial this morning that is all but telling you that Rush is moving to 104.7 FM, which is a shame because I was digging Neal Boortz...

Is 104.7 owned by Clear Channel?

Because it is here --- I thought it'd be a little weird for Clear Channel to own 104.7 all over the country.

Hmm, I think it is.

Time for a Congressional Inquiry.

And I'll say this, if they get Rush, KDKA is doomed. I used to listen to KDKA all the time, but now the only time I tune in now is for Rush or the local guy, Fred Honsberger. As much as I love the "Honzman" he only does "talk radio" for 90 minutes, then he has to do some news and shit for the rest of the afternoon. Plus KDKA runs f'n commercials every 5 minutes.

Like I said, if they get Rush, that means either Neal Boortz or Glenn Beck is screwed. Beck is on from 10-1, and Boortz is 1-3, which is a pity because I like all three of them...

South of Boston, I know 104.7 is not a Clear Channel station...not sure about in the Greater Boston area though. They sure do own a lot of billboards though.

...Clear Channel...bastardizing radio since 1994...

Could be worse. Good luck getting AM radio stations around here after 6P.

And, I believe, Clear Channel owns about 8 stations in this not-too-big market.

We get Rush, Savage, Liddy, Boortz, all of these guys here. I've been listening to Boortz more than any of them, as the others are fairly new here (past six months to a year), and I've always liked the guy.

The problem is that when everyone is marching together and a skirmish starts, it is only natural for more people to be sucked into the violence or mayhem. A group of 100 can ruin it for 20,000 if they know what they are doing. Once the cops start throwing the tear gas and rubber bullets, they aren't going to care who they hit because by then it will be too late, but the media will conveniently not do any type of research and just label the entire protesting body as one, thus some more MikeSC's take shape.

Something I am not sure of, what precautions are taking place at the RNC? I mean obviously they can't do the cage deal since there is going to be too many people for it, but are they pulling the "you can't come closer then 20 blocks from here" bit or what?

That's YOUR problem. Hell, I'm almost hoping for mayhem --- as it will only hurt the left so much more. People don't want crazies running the gov't --- and the Democratic Party has been co-opted by them.

not my problem, I can care less actually. If people are dumb enough to base their vote on the action of a tiny group of people, then our country is in more trouble then we know.

Oh and lets not pretend only one political party is co-opted by "crazies"

In this election, however, one particular party has decided to embrace the crazies.

Michael Moore is living proof of this.

I don't remember seeing mainstream Democrats coming out praising Michael Moore, then again maybe I am not paying enough attention, and furthermore will not be voting for a democrat anyway.

Mikey Moore sitting next to Jimmy Carter at the DNC Convention (Well, Mikey was 3 seats away, but his gut stretched out to President Peanut).

Or how about the Democrat list of all-stars that attended Fattyheight 7/11 and came out praising the movie and claiming Mikey as their own "Rush Limbaugh"?

I'm sure our "Mikey" who's from SC can name a few more instances that I'm too lazy to remember, or care about.

Oh, and here's is some info on an earlier discussion about my town's talk-radio market. One mistake the article makes is that Boortz is on from 1-3, not 12-3...

Link...

Two syndicated talk radio personalities will play musical chairs here in the months to come. KDKA-AM (1020) is canceling "The Rush Limbaugh Show" and picking up "The Radio Factor with Bill O'Reilly" to replace him.

The move marks the start of yet another battle in the war for dominance between two radio giants -- Infinity Broadcasting, which owns KDKA, WZPT-FM, WDSY-FM and WRKZ-FM, and Clear Channel, which owns WPGB, WDVE-FM, WXDX-FM, WWSW-FM, WKST-FM and WBGG-AM.

Infinity-owned WRKZ recently picked up Howard Stern after he was dropped here and in other markets where he was carried on Clear Channel stations.

O'Reilly's show will begin airing on KDKA Nov. 15. Limbaugh's top-rated afternoon show has been on KDKA since 1991. Limbaugh will move to WPGB-FM's (104.7) all-talk lineup, also starting Nov.15.

O'Reilly's daily two-hour live show airs from noon to 2 p.m. KDKA will start Fred Honsberger's afternoon show an hour earlier at 2 p.m. The O'Reilly show now airs here on WPTT-AM (1360).

"In markets where O'Reilly is on strong radio stations, he's doing extremely well, particularly among male demographics," says Infinity senior vice president and Pittsburgh market manager Michael Young. "That's certainly something we've charted in the two years he's been on the air."

Limbaugh is a key element on Clear Channel's talk lineup in other markets, which also includes Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and Michael Savage -- all of whom are heard here on WPGB.

Limbaugh joins a strong syndicated lineup on WPGB, says WPGB program director Jay Bohannon. "We're thrilled to welcome Rush. This is going to give us incredible continuity throughout the day. It completes the puzzle for us."

Limbaugh is "the most listened-to talk host in America," says Clear Channel senior vice president of programming Gene Romano. "WPGB has quickly built a special lineup," which Limbaugh's show will complement, he says.

Neal Boortz's syndicated show currently airs in the noon to 3 p.m. slot on WPGB. The station is looking at airing Boortz's show at another time but hasn't made any decisions, Bohannon said.

WPTT has been looking at potential replacements for O'Reilly. "We're evaluating those options right now," says WPTT program director John Poister.

Provided one ignores Moore at the DNC.

Or Moore being applauded by the, you know, head of the DNC. But I guess Terry McAuliffe isn't mainstream in the Dem Party.

All of the Dems who raved about F 9/11? Nah, doesn't prove anything.

Why did Kerry turn into such a dove during the primaries, only to announce that he would have done exactly what Bush did even knowing what we know now? Couldn't be that "fringe" that IS the reason he might win.

How about Dean's comments that the terror alerts are politically motivated while griping that Bush didn't warn people about 9/11? He isn't fringe in the Democratic Party --- sadly enough.

The fools who plan to get violent and destroy property in New York are far, far left of Moore. They’re far out of the entire American political system.

On another note, that fringey bastard Kerry has denounced the Moveon ad that responds to the Swift Boat guys and takes jabs at Bush’s national guard service. Hopefully this will be a step towards getting both campaigns out of this ridiculous habit of pretending it’s still 1972.

The original topic of this post was the fact that some of the protestors seemed to be leaning toward misbehaving. You are debating politics - not the topic. I want kerry to cream bush, but there is no way i support people acting in a lawless manner in my city and putting people in danger. And i 100% agree with the fact that people acting like animals will HELP bush, not hurt him. Saying that people would not change their opinion based on these things is a nice thought, but not necessarily true.

The news here has had groups threatening illegal actions cause they were denied a permit. People provoking police into a confrontation at a time where we could be vulnerable to a terrorist attack doesn't strike me as helpful to anyone, whether democrat or republican.
