SpikeFayeJettEdBebop 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2004 I'll leave my house for 3 maybe 4 hours and my computer will be on(With just AIM running). When I return, my moniter will be on, and the computer will be off. I am sure no one is manually turning my computer off, I know it's just turning off by itself. Other than that, I have NO IDEA whats going on. If anyone could tell me, or give me tips on how to fix the problem, I would appreciate it.
Guest Fook Report post Posted August 21, 2004 Have you never heard of sleep mode?
SpikeFayeJettEdBebop 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2004 Yes. This is not sleep mode. The computer turns itself ALL the way off. It used to go to sleep, I was fine with that. Now it just turns ALL the way off. I have to manually turn it back on each time.
Rob E Dangerously 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2004 It could be overheating. Although, I lack the expertise to comment further

Guest Fook Report post Posted August 21, 2004 Right click on the desktop and go to properties. Click the screen saver tab and then on the power button. There'll be a list of what the computer does when it's idle for a certain time. Just set the options the way you want.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2004 Outside of the power options it could be possible that the power supply is going... but that would be an odd symptom of it since it would shut down randomly all the time.
