The cheapest way would be with a computer DVD recorder. I believe there's a way to hook a VCR up to it, but you'd have to look into that yourself.

It isn't that expensive actually.

 

All you need is a RCA unit that hooks up to your computer, which I don't believe are all that much.

If he doesn't already own a computer DVD burner, he'd likely have to spend at least a couple of hundred. That's why I said cheapest way.

The hell with 2006, they're that cheap NOW. I saw a DVD player for $50 at Best Buy a few weeks ago, and you can find low-end DVD players for anywhere between $50-$80 now.

 

And I used to have a massive tape collection, but I sold almost all of them on ebay. Only a few tapes left.

Does anyone know if you lose a generation of quality when you tape from VHS to DVD? I have a lot of wrestling matches that can't afford to drop anymore in video/audio quality.

I really need one, seeing as I literally have dozens of wrestling tapes that I want to copy over to DVD. But I haven't had the cash to buy a DVD recorder, since the cheapest one I've seen is still something like 400 bucks, which is out of my price range currently.

I just picked up the Benoit dvd yesterday at suncoast for 29.99, the sad thing is today I was at walmart and they had it for 18.96 (damn I should have waited) but I did pick up Backlash 04 there today for only 14.96, they also had Great American Bash, Vengeance 04, and the Cena dvd

Everyone knows Suncoast is way overpriced on most things and a non-Criterion 2 disc DVD for $30 should set off alarms in your head.

well 30 is the srp from wwe. but besides that, I didn't know I was going to walmart today. I should have mentioned that I don't drive (which is a major disadvantage in southern cali)

 

Besides I was getting paid today anyways, so I thought, no biggie

 

and walmart isn't always reliable in their wwe selctions

I wonder if the success of the Flair DVD had anything to do with that. They carried very little wrestling until late last year and since Armageddon, they've been carrying pretty much everything that WWE has released.

I switched to DVD simply because almost all DVD stuff is widescreen (unless you go to fucking Blockbuster).

I keep wanting to buy my parents a DVD played for Christmas every year, but I'm afraid my mom will bitch about the blackbars on all the movies.
