Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted August 27, 2004 Exactly, and as a team, do you REALLY want your star player to be an erratic stoner who doesn't really want to even be there? I mean, the keystone of an entire playbook, not just a go-to guy.
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2004 Would've been nice of him to make the decision in time to allow the Dolphins to draft/sign a replacement. As it is, the team got fucked over.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2004 Wow, people are still bitter over Clemens? No, Anglesault is still bitter over Clemens ... well, him and a few other Yankee fans. Most people (including a lot of NYY fans) don't give a shit about what Clemens did. Back to Ricky Williams ... he only contacted the team when they said that they wanted the $8+ million from him. If they hadn't come after the money, he'd have never contacted them. Do I think that he'll come back? Yes, most likely. But the Dolphins have him by the short-hairs, because even if he misses this year, or years beyond this one, he still owes them one more. "Retiring" doesn't relieve you of years you owe your team. If you choose to un-retire, the years left on your contract still exist, and thus the Dolphins will get to decide where he gets dealt.
