Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2004 The Von Erichs/Freebirds feud was one of the major highlights of the 80's. You can't go wrong with any of that stuff (save for Fritz's heart attack angle, which was just WCCW desperate for business and pulling a sympathy stunt). Also, Adams and Hernandez were AWESOME heels in WCCW, although unfortunately here they don't have anything of them together as the Dynamic Duo. Still, this DVD is definitely worth a pickup, IMO. World Class was a great promotion "back in the day" and some of the feuds are fantastic - Von Erichs vs. Freebirds, Von Erichs vs. Hernandez and/or Adams, it's all great stuff. If you're a fan of old-school, NWA-type action, this is definitely a must see. If we all support this initial release by purchasing it, we should definitely see more World Class DVD's released in the near future, which is a good thing Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2004 The actual wrestling will probably leave some to be desired (I remember WCCW being very punch/kick heavy) but the angles were always awesome and the crowd was always wicked into it. I was such a WCCW mark back in the day, it's embarressing to admit now. Hell, I even liked the One Man Gang back then. Plus, like res said (and I wicked agree with) if people support releases like this, we'll be more likely to see other, better releases in the future (Midnites-Fantastics, Rick Rude matches, Bruiser Brody matches, and - best case scenario - entire Cotton Bowl shows).
