NoCalMike Posted September 3, 2004 Report Posted September 3, 2004 I find it suspect that he didn't really get into any detail whatsoever besides saying, "pro-growth" which with conservatives usually leans towards somehow trying to find another way to shrink the tax burden on the upper clas in some way. "Simplifying the tax system" By gawd, this better not mean he is going to propose anything as assanine as a flat tax. Anyone have any clue what the guy was talking about?
Jobber of the Week Posted September 3, 2004 Report Posted September 3, 2004 He told ya. Go to his web site if you want to hear more. Amazingly, here's the in-depth analysis from his "Agenda For America" Making the Tax Code Fairer, Simpler, and Pro-Growth - President Bush will work with Congress to make the tax code simpler for taxpayers, encourage saving and investment, and improve the economy's ability to create jobs and raise wages. Yeah, I know, I thought it was real vague too until it was all explained in detail like that.

I don't even get the "CONFUSING" part of taxes, unless you own your own small business and have to deal with saving every single receipt for write-offs and stuff.......but for your average citizen, you just write down how much is on yer W-2, and then add a number or two, and you are done...... "fairer" why do I see the opposite in that.....LOL. "pro-growth" must mean, give the corporations back more money so they can expand overseas a few years ahead of time.......
kkktookmybabyaway Posted September 3, 2004 Report Posted September 3, 2004 Perhaps he was talking about a National Sales Tax or something -- I don't know because I didn't watch it. Doesn't really matter because nothing will change...
Jobber of the Week Posted September 3, 2004 Report Posted September 3, 2004 I wish, but I agree with you. If he really meant this, he would've done something about in the past four years.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted September 3, 2004 Report Posted September 3, 2004 No matter how much any politican talks about change and reform, very rarely does anything get accomplished, which is why I don't bother mustering the engergy to comment on any of this stuff...
Stephen Joseph Posted September 3, 2004 Report Posted September 3, 2004 ditto And btw, ::cough:: economically speaking, a national sales tax discourages consumption and is likely to not help the economy as much as a simplified income or flat tax would. Course you all will disagree with me, but whatever.
Slayer Posted September 3, 2004 Report Posted September 3, 2004 I agree... *shudder* Man, I feel dirty saying that -Slayer, TSM's lesser known economics dude
