Bill Clinton admitted to hospital.

I think it's more like "Someone at the AP misinterpreted the response and sent it over the wire."

How do you misinterpret boos and cheers?

Now I can understand if a crowd is yelling a person's name like "Lou" and a reporter thinks it's "Boo."

Damn you Liberal Media...

What I'm saying is I guess the reporter had that report already written before the speech. It's not hard to get advance copies of someone's speech, I read along with Laura and George at the convention this week. My guess is the reporter assumed the audience would boo, and George, in the middle of it, would just wait for it to die out (it would be a sticky situation if the crowd turned nasty at mention of Clinton, and the best recourse is to do nothing and wait it out.)

That didn't happen, the author didn't delete the line and sent it out over the wire. I wouldn't be suprised if that author was suspended or fired.

I think people holding this up as an example of Liberal Media Bias are blowing it out of proportion. For Gods sakes, they withdrew the story.

I think it's more like "Someone at the AP misinterpreted the response and sent it over the wire." I highly suspect they got advance copy of Bush's comments and expected that would happen, then forgot to edit it away.

The story got pulled as it should have. Hm. Life goes on.

"misinterpreted"? Yeah, boos and cheers are virtually indistiguishable.

The media is biased. We're used to it. Hell, we've already one writer nailed for bashing the RNC BEFORE it happened and now the AP has this story. I shouldn't even MENTION the story on Bush's speech that was nothing more than the talking points of the DNC.

What I'm saying is I guess the reporter had that report already written before the speech.

How dare anybody get annoyed at the press writing something negative BEFORE IT HAPPENS? Silly us for thinking the press MIGHT have bias problems.

It's not hard to get advance copies of someone's speech, I read along with Laura and George at the convention this week.

It's a shame Kerry didn't. And you ignore that this is coming from an alleged JOURNALIST --- who's not supposed to report what DIDN'T happen just because they assume it will.

At the bare minimum, he should be shit-canned.

My guess is the reporter assumed the audience would boo, and George, in the middle of it, would just wait for it to die out (it would be a sticky situation if the crowd turned nasty at mention of Clinton, and the best recourse is to do nothing and wait it out.)

Which shows that he's not a reporter.

Well, they had their attempt at analysis of Bush's RNC speech during a news story, etc.

Yup, NO bias there.

The AP writer's act was despicable, and the AP should have owned up to the mistake. Hopefully, Hays won't work again.

In any event, I think it's fair to say we're all hoping for a full recovery regardless of political stripe.
