Jonathon 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2004 Just picked up the new issue of Wizard, and there's a nice little article on this. It was mentioned that the first thing Bryan Singer he did was ditch the script, which would have revolved around some kind of Kryptonian bounty hunter hunting Superman, while he had do deal with Lex Luthor. (whew). He also repordedly is ditching the idea of having a "big name" star play Supes (Tom Welling, Jake Gyllenhal, Josh Hartnett, Brendan Fraser". (also a good call) Shooting will be in Australia with producer Jon Peters (Batman). Reportedly a $200 million budget. (sweet christmas!) There was talk that it would be POSSIBLE for him to direct X3, but not probable, since shooting for Supes would end right around the time X3 would be ready for production. The studio is looking for directors. Possible replacements include Richard Donner, David Goyer (Blade:Trinity), and Guillermo Del Toro (Hellboy). He's still set to write the 2005 arc of Ultimate Xmen. Comments? I would rather see X3 wait for him...He got better with X2, he's starting to develop a rhythm with the characters and their underlying stories...But he IS a good choice as any to direct Supes. He's proven himeself to please mainstream and "smart" fans with Xmen..sooooo...thoughts?

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted September 3, 2004 $200 mill...wow that's a hell of a budget. At least there's a decent proven director in charge of it. Hopefully WB gives Singer the freedom they gave Nolan with Batman and doesn't interfer with his choices. X3 directed by Del Toro could be interesting. However, since his style is darker than what Singer has done, I'm sure many would whine aboot it.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted September 4, 2004 Singer on Supes and Del Toro on X3 might just be a pretty good thing.
