Man, the series rocks the twenty diffent types of kickass.

 

Dont hate on Emma (Hayley on DT-Emma is her real name)- she talks to the fanbase and in a Avril type of way shes cute.

 

This series is gonna last longer than the newer shows if they keep the quality up... Everybody hates the new battleizer they have for Connor, but to be honest, A T-rex cant jump that far and you know it cant fly. Oh and it follows a pattern:

 

Andros - Flight

 

Leo - Ground

 

Carter - Flight

 

Wes- Ground

 

Cole - Flight and Ground (His battleziser was a jet)

I'm sorry, you guys, but I'm just amazed and baffled at the fact that serious analysis and discussion of "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" is transpiring here in autumn 2004.

 

I can understand "Hey remember when we'd watch Power Rangers after we got home from school? And remember when they'd get the Ultra-Zord? Man, you KNEW it was OVER then! You just knew!" or "Whoa, I never realized it because at that age I was still in a latency period, but damn, the Pink Ranger was a babe!"

 

But the fact that there are more series of this show, and you guys are discussing them to such a degree...ah. I shake my head.

Just be thankful the thing's on life support as it is. When you're pulling people back from 12 years ago because it turned out their lives didn't go anywhere after the show, you've reached a lower low than every Borg episode of Star Trek combined.

Not really. Saban tried duplicating the PR formula early on with BeetleBorgs, VR Troopers, etc., and it didn't work out. There was a long stretch between the early success of Power Rangers and the current wave of shows. The current wave you're seeing is due to Pokemon and Pokemon alone.

My point is that I've moved beyond following WWF to any great degree, and now just screw around in OAO Raw, and now and then maybe drop some nugget of actual content in the WWE folder. But it's just not my thing any longer, because I realize that I've gotta move on.

Raw has Trish Stratus, Power Rangers has Japanese dinosaur robots.

The fact that cartoons are coming from Japan is really just part of a larger trend where everything Japanese gets imported over here - video games, electronics, baseball players, bukakke etc.

 

My point is that I've moved beyond following WWF to any great degree, and now just screw around in OAO Raw, and now and then maybe drop some nugget of actual content in the WWE folder. But it's just not my thing any longer, because I realize that I've gotta move on.

That's pretty much me as well. Lurk around there, and post mostly in pop culture.

 

As for Power Rangers, if you don't like it, hey, no biggie. Just remember that that doesn't automatically mean that it sucks, or that noone watches it.

No, we get it. We just don't care that it's looked down upon, and I personally hate that you have to stop watching something at a certain age because traditional convention says so, with the exception of the obvious (saccharine educational junk intended purely for preschoolers).

You know, I read comics, I listen to top 40/AAA music, I've got a shitload of Transformers and I watch shows meant for kids. And I enjoy it. I embrace my inner geek, and honestly, I don't care what others think (except my fiancee, for obvious reasons) about something I like.
