LaParkaMarka Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Figuring out who to start each week can be pretty difficult, so here's a chance for everyone to ask all of those questions in one thread. Anyways, me first. In one league, I have Fred Taylor, Shaun Alexander, Quentin Griffin, and Chris Brown. The scoring system: 1 point for every 15 yards rushing, 6 for a TD, -2 for a fumble. The matchups: Alexander has New Orleans, Taylor has Buffalo, Brown has Miami, and Griffin has KC. Normally I would start Alexander and Taylor easy. But Miami should be a cakewalk for Tennessee, and the KC defense should still be terrible against the run. Thoughts?
The Man in Blak Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 I'd consider Griffin over Taylor, as KC's run defense isn't going to turn around in a year and Taylor isn't guaranteed to get carries in the end zone.
Guest El Satanico Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 I'd be hesitant to use Griffin, until we see him play a real game. The same can be said about Chris Brown, but I'd rather take a chance with him than with Griffin. At this point in the season it's probably best to go with guys that have proven themselves in real games. My choices are easy to make at this point. Both of my benches are mainly guys that need to prove they're worth starting.
the pinjockey Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 Taylor and Alexander. Griffin has to prove what he can do and who knows if Brown is even going to play this weekend as the Tenn/Miami game is uncertain at this point due to Ivan.
razazteca Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 Just go with the old players Alexander and Taylor.
Guest Rrrsh Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 I can only start 1 WR between Reggie Williams, Micheal Jenkins and Micheal Clayton. Who do I start.
razazteca Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 Reggie Williams is a starter? Go with him.
slabinskia Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 Tell me which 3 wr to start out of these 5.In my league we did a live draft and the good wr were taken so this is what I have to choose from. chad johnson derrick mason donald driver reggie wayne darrell jackson

If Reggie Williams is starting, I'd go with him. Other than Jimmy Smith Jags have no one, which gives Reggie Williams the edge. Clayton and Jenkins will likely be good contributers this season, but I don't see it happening yet. They may not be Marvin Harrison, but you've got 4 good WRs. Driver is the only iffy guy on that list. Chad Johnson and Derrick Mason are no brainer starters, so your biggest decision is between Wayne and Jackson. I'd go with Jackson, because until Koren Robinson steps up he's the number one WR in Seattle.
Guest goatfish Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 Johnson, Mason, and Jackson easily. You have two number ones in Johnson and Mason and a number two in Jackson that is like a 1a in Seattle's offense. Driver and Wayne are good backups to these three. That's honestly a very solid WR core.
slabinskia Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 I really like mason,I guess I was aiming too high on hoping for moss, owens, harrison or holt.I felt a qb and rb were more important though.I took hasselback and clinton portis with trent green and travis henry as backups.

Guest Rrrsh Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 I agree with the majority. Its not even close.
